Which version of OOTP was your first?

Thought this would be interesting.

No doubt, would love to see those who've been here since the beginning. It'd be amazing to see the transformation of this series from 20+ years ago to today.

15 for me, though I didn't return until 18 and have bought each one since.

The first season ticket game for me. I remember going to EB games and finding the game in the bargain bin. 6.5 was by far the best one I have ever played. Nothing beats get married, having a kid, and then having my kid play on my team.

Yeah, the simplicity of 6.5 and the whole look of the platform was pretty cool. And I still have this dream of ITP being incorporated into the current OOTP game.

I got in very late on 5. 6 may of been out or only weeks from being released. I found these forums a few months later and have very fond memories of 6 and 6.5.

Then the growing pains of OOTP 7, the new engine (which seems to still be in use), merger with SI, breakup with SI and the continued growth of the company as they added hockey.
Boxing was always around but the developer of that games seems to have faded away. Which is a shame since that fighting engine was really good, just needed a management game around it.

I go back to the beginning. Although tbh, there were many years when I didnt touch the game. Bought 1,5,10,17 and last month 21. Love 21, what an improvement, even from 17. This is the first time Markus and the team managed to hook me into the PT, bastards!! (lol)

I remember people haaaaaated 6.5, then everyone loved it because it wasn’t 2k7. It took a couple years of getting all the features of 6.5 back into the new engine for folks to accept the new iteration. IIRC the 6 and 6.5 hate came down to the game’s inclusion of DIPS.

My first version was 3 but it was really 5 that I started playing to the exclusion of other baseball games.
