Season 12 (2030) Discussion: 2/18/19-2/24/19
For the Portland Raccoons, this season will see them with a chance to make a run for three consecutive relegations in Gold.358;
What is your sad story that will move us to weep for you?

The Hoboken Zephyrs are in their 4th season in gold after back-to-back 89-73 seasons leading to early playoff exits (DS and WC). Looking to upgrade the offense without the defense suffering too much. We'll see how well that works. Off to an early 2-1 start.
The Port Washington Pack Rats (packs only) are in their second Gold season, after finishing their first season at 81-81. Lucked out in my pack this morning and upgraded at pitching, snaring a Patrick Corbin and an 87 rated Warren Spahn. Upped the HR factor at my ballpark, since the team now has a lot of power hitters. Sitting at 3-0 in the early going. |

Fans of Season Discussion might remember during the offseason when the Tucson Sidewinders decided to spend a modest amount of PP to improve their Starting Pitching and Shortstop over the offseason. While they did add undervalued SP Dennis Martinez to the starting rotation, OSANEWS reported a backroom brouhaha occurred between GM and Owner when news broke that the Tucson Sidewinders had signed Pete Rose Sr, not hours after the GM had public issued a vote of confidence for RF Lonnie Smith.
So roster changes for the coming season include Pete Rose Sr. (The elite fielding 75) taking Willie Wilson's roster spot (Playing RF vs. righties and CF vs lefties), while Torii Hunter and Coney Lansford were replaced by two infielders, Snuffy Stirnwiess and Mark Belanger, who will compete to take the coveted SS vs. LHP starting spot over the first month or so. Other Minor changes include Jody Davis for Salvador Perez and Dave Dravecky for Mark Firdych. So all-in-all, besides the AH shenanigans (Was sorting by auctions and ended up seeing a slightly discounted but still pretty overpriced Charlie Hustle and went for it), it looks to be another promising year for the Sidewinders. (Especially since there's not a team chock full of perfects and diamonds in Bronze .353 this year.) |

2-4 to start the season. This will be a tough year for the Hoggs, I think. We have 2 other teams in our division who won 90+ games at diamond last season.
My only addition is Andrew Chafin in the pen. Control not so good, movement insane, especially against LHP.

After my first ever promotion I find myself in Silver .251
I have no idea what to expect! I am 5-5 so far I may settle here for a few weeks as I continue to collect PP and improve my team. So far the quality of the competition seems to be a pretty steep step up from bronze which is as it should be. |

So, just realized I have 11 OOTPLee#'s in my bronze .353 league. I don't know if I'm going to feel super smart about beating 11 starter pack teams, let alone if I lose to them. Guess I should feel glad I only have one in my division, although it's possible Lee31757 makes it an even dozen of OOTPLee's.

Perfect Mike Trout once again starts off the season cold as ice. It has happened in enough consecutive seasons now that I am beginning to believe there code for guys to start off cold. He started off his first month batting .170. While I am sure he will turn it around it is becoming a trend.

These are all teams with owners named OOTPLee1, OOTPLee2, ect. all are filled with iron and bronze players and have been active 2-3 seasons. Maybe there just needs to be a special OOTPLee tier to sort these guys out, though I suppose this league is essentially that. |

5 straight first place finishes (2 Bronze, 2 Silver,1 Gold) although last season, their first in gold, was only by 1 game. They have yet to win it all yet.
They consistently have had the best starting and relief pitching and best Def Eff and ZR but the offense suffers some because of that focus, which is why it hurts when Perfect Trout starts out cold every season. Last edited by Maddox; 02-18-2019 at 07:54 PM. |

Not sure what the point of that would be but unless there's another team in there raking up the PP (maybe OOTPLee progressively fattens up one team each season - heh, now I'm really getting into conspiracy theory territory). Maybe you've somehow ended up in a test league of some sort?

Georgia Peaches promoted to D386 in a really tough division, 3 Diamond playoff teams from last year and a Gold winner. 7-12 so far. Upgraded 3 positions with my points from last year. Hoping to compete in a year or two.
Columbus Clippers in their 2nd year in Perfect, P400. 72 wins in year 1. 10-10 so far in season 2. Could upgrade 1 starting pitcher during the offseason. Probably will need a few more upgrades to compete, need more pitching help. |

The Raccoons, after having been shafted from Perfect straight to Gold, have wasted no time to burrow under .500 in April, 11-15. They went straight into the bottom three in all major offensive categories, and made 120 PP for the entire month of April.
At this point I wonder whether I should tear the whole thing down (at least the batting corps that does no batting) and just randomly repopulate them from the auction house. The Raccoons are horrendous. Or it is the payback of the universe for the actual Raccoons leading the division by nine with 20 to play. ![]() Quote:
You can report them if you really bother, but I don't think anything happens in that regard, ever. It's been 12 weeks

The Laser Kiwis started the month off 3-11 but managed to turn it around to finish off 13-14. Hopefully it's the second-half-of-April team that shows up from now on!
Plus side, got 12 hits in a single inning and got a 3000 PP achievement (plus 400 PP for 12 runs in an inning). After some quick debate, I turned it all into packs and got Max Scherzer (my favourite player!) out of it. Been a while since I got anything useful out of a pack.

Kinda weird having the first game in March; maybe that's why the Hoggs forgot how to play for the first week and a half of the season. Rollie Fingers had a 16.20 ERA after his first 4 games, with 3 losses and 2 blown saves. The rest of the team must've got all their fielding gloves mixed up because they were piling on error after error (team defensive efficiency was down near .600 at one point as well).
But then they got themselves back in sync. From a 3-7 start they went 13-3 to finish the day 16-10. That's good enough for 2nd in our division, 3 1/2 games behind the high-flying Walk With Elias. PP were hard to come by, though. Just 340. Luis Aparicio hit successfully in the first 15 games of the season. Finished the month with a slash-line of .303/.319/.406, which is enough for an OPS+ of 101, which might be the highest he'll ever go! I expect significant regression to the mean, but if he can put up +4.7ZR each month until the end of the season then who cares! As mentioned earlier, added Andrew Chafin to the pen. Playing him in a setup role at the moment and he's going well (1-0 with 1 save and 4 helds; 1.86 ERA - his FIP and WHIP are high-ish but with my late-inning infield defense (2B Fox, SS Aparicio, 3B Simmons) I figure we should get him out of most jams). Look at those splits vs LHB!

Has anyone else noticed that achivements are sometimes not firing as they should?
I had a player hit a grand slam and nothing. Mentioned in the box score but no achievement and no PP. |

I think you only get an achievement for a grand slam if it's of the walk off variety
