does game change starting pitcher?

I had my starting pitcher set and when I looked at the boxscore after the game he was not the starter. Not sure if I have pitching set to AI or Manager but in the regular and challenge mode games the starter wouldn't be changed by the AI regardless. Is it different in PT? I could very well have messed it up too so just asking...

are you set for 'start highest rested'?

that could change the starter listed depending on rest days/etc

There needs to be "Start highest ranked fully rested starter" or something so that my #1 guy auto-starts whenever he's rested instead of my #4 or #5.

I have it set to "strict, on occasion highest rested". It is the same on my challenge mode games but in challenge mode when I manually change the starter, regardless of whether he is tired, he is the next starter. I was in the LCS and wanted my #1 starter to pitch on 4 days rest. I manually selected him to be the starter but the game changed my selection.

EDIT: he last pitched on October 5th and I wanted him to pitch again on October 10th.

I usually stick to Strict while in the Playoffs. Haven't had any issues there.

I always use "Always start highest rested" and this is exactly how it has worked for me. With that setting any starter at 100% will get the next start depending on his order in the rotation: for example #4 started and even though #5 is at 100% he won't get next start if #1-3 are at 100%

That setting better means "Always start highest (in rotation order) and rested. I'd be surprised that it works any differently for anyone else.
