How accurate are the Past Auction stats?

I'm about to sell off a J.T. Riddle card. He's rated 53. He's a good 53 rated player, which makes him the guy who plays shortstop for you when you first create your team. He's not going to displace any bronze or silver cards.

According to past auctions, his average selling price is 837 and someone at some point has paid 2,500 for this card. I've seen several other players like this, but J.T. is the most glaring example. I don't think even J.T. Riddle would pay 837 for a J.T. Riddle, much less 2500.

Does this mean the auction price history has a bug, or is there some residual data from the beta still floating around, or is there some nonsense going on?

The last one. Suspicious/flagged transactions (again, cheap players is how you funnel points between accounts, violating the TOS) currently aren't being deleted from the price history - I believe a developer posted that they will be, sometime soon.

That's almost laughably stupid of these players. They could plainly see the game was keeping an auction history, and Markus had just finished warning them not to pull that stunt once the beta finished.

course it could also be that they don't read/browse the forums and didn't see the warning... but as always, ignorance of the law isn't an excuse

There are thousands of teams and a very small fraction of those owners probably visit these forums. That being said transferring in game currency between accounts is pretty universally frowned upon. I know it can earn you a ban in MLB: The Show as well.
