Having trouble starting up '17

Hey guys first time on the boards, i have owned both '15 and '16 and i just bought '17 on steam. Every time i click play i get a message saying "OOTP Baseball 17 quit unexpectedly." and when i click re-open it says the same thing. I have a mac computer and my processing is OS X 10.8.5. I have restarted my computer many times and still nothing :/ I am not sure what to do anymore. I sent an email to developers but no reply yet.. i just hope i can get it to work. Hopefully someone knows of a way or any advice on what to do.

It's only a shot in the dark, but have you tried updating your drivers (graphics drivers in particular) and/or Steam?

You can try two things - create a log file and send it to us, or run the game in safemode.

Safemode first -

Open Steam client -> Library
Right click on Out of the Park Baseball 17
Click on "Properties" at the bottom of the menu
Open the General tab if it's not already open
Click on "Set Launch Options..."
Enter or paste these parameters:
nofacegen nosound no3d nothread
Click on "Ok"
Start OOTP and it will hopefully start, but without facegen, 3D, sound and multi-threading. If it starts, close it again and try only one parameter until you find the parameter(s) which are required to make the game work on your system. Now we'll know where we might look for the problem. If it works with "no3d", then the 3D code causes the crash.

To create a log file -

Click on "Set Launch Options..."
Enter or paste this parameter:
tracemode
Click on "Ok"
Start OOTP and let it crash
Open the finder and navigate to this folder:
/Users/<your user name>/Library/Application Support/Out of the Park Developments/OOTP Baseball 17/debug
Send me the file ootp_trace.txt

Getting the same error and no luck in safe mode even with all 4 launch options entered in steam.

Ran a "tracemode" but there's no OOTP folder listed in the Finder Library.

My system:

Macbook Air 1.8 GHz core I-5 with 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Intel HD Graphics 4000 512 MB
OS X 10.8.5 (12F2560)
All software current (OSX 10.8.5)

First thing I did was DL the program straight from OOTP website but got a warning there wasn't enough memory available in startup to run the program. So I closed all apps which didn't help so I then deleted large video files that I no longer needed. It still didn't work so I bought the game on Steam, this is when the "game unexpectedly quit" errors started appearing. My system isn't full of junk, my storage shows 42GB free from a 130GB HD.

At a loss here, I have 2015 installed which works fine..

I'm running the game on a iMac and macbook. Both about 4 years old.
I'm running 10.11.4.
Have 8gb ram.
The game runs fine.
