Retiring to play another sport

Is there anyway to know before they quit that they might want to pursue a career in another sport?

Is the AI programmed to give certain players a % chance of quitting each offseason? Like say this guy has a 25% chance every offseason of quitting for basketball. Or is it purely luck/random?

Are basketball players taken into a pool of height? Could I see a 5'7 guy retire to play basketball?

Retire the player. Say he went to play basketball. Or create a storyline for it. But it'd be random, the game it's that sophisticated to think oh this guy is huge he should go play tight end.
