First bug I encountered: Allow SP In Relief always YES

I imported an OOTP13 league and held an inaugural draft. All ML teams have "Allow SP in Relief" set to "YES" by default. The AI manager puts that option back on even when I turn it off. After simming a season, every starting pitcher has a few saves. My 22 game winner had 6 saves and 45 games pitched (34 started). Has anyone else seen this?

Mine was just the opposite. All are 'NO' and I want some of them to be 'YES'

The AI always defaults this to "Yes" if the season year is 1930 or earlier, this is by design. However, in a patch I will make this configurable

Ha ha, I just wrote a reply saying the exact opposite of the OP; that I'd noticed this too and thought it was great!

I should probably further explain that back in the olden days of baseball there really wasn't such a thing as a set pitching rotation. You simply put your best pitcher out there whenever he was ready to pitch. And if it was the 9th inning of a 2-2 tie and your best pitcher could give you 2 innings, you played him then and there instead of saving him for 9 the next day. In 1930 for instance ace pitcher Lefty Grove led the league in both wins and saves, finishing 28-5 with the pennant winning Philadelphia A's. He started 32 games that year, which seems like kind of a low number before you realize that he played another *18* in relief. In those 18 games in relief he threw an additional *40* innings, went 5-2, and saved 9 games. That is an insane amount of high-leverage usage.

BTW Markus I would go so far as to make that automatic until the mid-30s at least, as this practice continued more or less into the Second World War.

This makes sense. I would request that it be part of the league strategy settings. If I pick 2012 for the league strategy settings I would expect it to be off (same place I can set rotation size, etc.)

That's how it will work in patch 1.
