After 10 years game finally crashes!

I was playing real time simulation and decided to look at pitching staff (while the game was still in progress) and also my lineup. Then instead of going back and just watching the simulation scores I decided to "enter the game" that was a selection from the PLAY tab menu. When I clicked on it the game crashed and said OOTPBB has stopped working and went back to desktop. Of course I lost allllllllllll those games I had played up to that point and I was having a great start to my season of course.

when this game crashes i dont get as mad... i feel like MLB the Show still crashes more than this game on my PS3. I dunno why but I find it more acceptable when i get a crash in this game than anything on my game systems.

I think I have one or two crashes in mine. That is from version 11 onwards to 13.

57 "years" in my current league with the same rate of crashing (and, as I have said elsewhere, crashes are not always the fault of the program currently running). Auto saving is crucial. When I am on a "hot streak" or, say, having just accomplished something like, ahem, WINNING THE WORLD SERIES, I will resort to manually saving, every day if I must.

Yeah I was just reporting the crash so Markus could FIX it.

Getting 10 years out of it without a crash is a record for me with this game (knock on wood). I remember version 7 and 10 crashing a lot.

Number one best, top, only, sure-fire, on-the-money slam-dunk move to avoid crashes: memory, memory, memory.......

Number two helpful method if number one is not viable: close the game and restart it every once in a while to possibly free up some resources.......

Definitely,

A rag cpu with rag ram will not run OOTP well.

I have an i7 quad core 3.2ghz 8gb memory hardly a RAG computer with RAG ram bucko.

When my copy (okay, copies) crash(es) it's generally because I've left it on for several days in a row. Just autosave daily or weekly and you should be good when you do get unlucky or lazy.
