Classic 163rd game
Going into the final game of the season, Cleveland and Minnesota were tied for the AL Central lead. Both teams dropped 1 run decisions in their final games. The line score from the 163rd game says it all.
Love this stuff. |

What a comeback - by both teams! Wish I could've been in the stadium for that one lol.

Comparing the number of hits to the number of runs, I'd have to assume there must have been a lot of players left on base.

It was not a Grand Slam. Cleveland had zero HRs in the game. Though I forget which team had which number, the walks issued in the game were 2 for one team and three for the other. |

Man I love games like that especially when I WIN them!
Did you play it or watch it? I like to just get my players and setup the lineups but generally let the computer AI play out the games while I watch and eat popcorn and drink beer. lol This is why I want more ANIMATIONS in this game because I love to watch baseball all year long and this game takes up the empty space after baseball season is over for me. I also just play General Manager with some control over the MLB team but let the computer AI handle the minors as well and so that means I have to do what the OWNER says and have to live off the BUDGE he gives me. Nolan Ryan is pretty generous though gave me $182,000,000 for this year.

Three teams on the last day of the season.
Philadelphia: 47-46 St. Louis: 46-47 Detroit: 46-47 (yes, it's a 94 game schedule) We're tied with Detroit for the 6th and final playoff spot. Philadelphia plays Detroit. Obviously that opens up all kinds of scenarios, including three-way possibilities. Philly hangs on to beat Detroit in the early game, making it a win-and-in scenario for us. Hooray! I look at the live sim, and we're up 12-4 in the 8th. I hit the end day button, and oh...my....god.....NO!! NO!!! Are you kidding me??!?!!? ![]() Thankfully at least we fall back into a one-game playoff against Detroit. Well, we lost that too. Sigh. |
