Commissioner Mode?

Is there a way to switch between being in Commissioner Mode and not being in it? It always seems to be greyed out. The reason I ask is I'm starting a league from scratch and would like to edit names and change around some other things, but then would like to turn it off. I'm also guessing that there will be a need to turn it on down the road.

Can you elaborate on that statement. If you go to your Manager Options window, are you saying that the Commissioner Mode check box is non-functional? If so, I've never seen that and can't think of a reason why that would ever be the case. AFAIK, you should be able to go in and out of Commissioner mode quite freely.

I'm at work right now so unfortunately can't boot up the game...but from my recollection, I go to "edit human manager status" or something like that. The line is definitely greyed out.

Valid point and I guess I don't have to. I guess I'd prefer to take away the temptation to "well I'll just edit this guy a little." Even though it is then easy to say "well you can just go enter commish mode again and do it anyways."

I dunno, just a preference.

I thought I recalled hearing the game ran less optimally if you were commissioner mode for longer periods of time (i.e. simming). I don't recall the specific impacts offhand though.

You're looking in the wrong place. Go to Manager Options -- the place where you have options for deciding who controls what part of your organization, and a variety of other options. There is a check box for Commissioner Mode up near your picture (if you have fictional coach pictures).

You could add a non-commish manager and just switch between the two.

The game does do some things differently, like ratings, based on whether you're in commish or manager mode.
