What makes a pitcher a good closer?

How come when I make my 'MR' into a 'CL' their ratings go down? Scouting and coaching is off in my league.

Any help / advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

By ratings that go down, are you talking about the overall stars? If yes, then it's probably because the overall stars are relative to the other closers and since the average closer is better than the average MR, your guy isn't going to be as good when compared to closers as he is when compared to MRs.

If you're saying the ratings like stuff and movement are decreasing, then I don't know.
