All-Pro Football 2K8

Just read about this on espn.com and IGN. Looks pretty good, although there's no franchise mode in it.

Looks great but typically its not being released in Europe!! I wish they would make North American sports games like these region free on Xbox 360.

I admit that it would not be worth there effort releasing the games over here but making them region free would at least give the rest of us the opportunity to import the games.

MUST CONTROL RAGE!!

I'm OK now just needed to let that one rip! Sorry!

NCAA 2008 on PS3 will run at 30 framses a second, where on the 360, it will run at 60.

Well living in crappy England, I dont get much of a choice!! I could always get an NTSC Xbox 360 but then I wouldn't be able to play online!! Why is it that Europeans always get the shaft when it comes to games consoles and games!! Grr

So getting back to the original post. Who's pre-ordered All-Pro Football 2K8?

I just played my first game online. I lost 14-7. Earl Campbell destroyed my defense and rushed for 120 yards, 2 TDs on 15 carries. That being said, Barry Sanders scored my 1 TD on a 63 yard run [Go Barry!].

Let me just say this... if you loved ESPN NFL 2K5 or any other NFL 2K game, then this is the game for you. If you didn't, you have a liking for the NFL license, or you are a fan of franchise modes, then you should probably stick to Madden. As a fan of the old NFL 2K games, I felt 'right at home' when I started playing. The one drawback is the lack of a franchise mode. Hopefully, they will add one in next year.

Also, I was surprised to see that O.J. Simpson is in the game.

Its strange but I actually love both 2K5 and Madden/NCAA games. I prefer to play NFL teams but I love the historical aspect of this new game. I'll be getting my order in for all 3 games as soon as I get my PS3!!

I bought this game for two main reasons

1) I HATE the Madden games! I was crushed when EA signed the exclusive NFL license almost destroying the great 2k franchise. Seeing them return was a great moment in video football and I hope that supporting this offering will lead to more releases down the road.

2) I finally get to play as Earl Campbell in a game! Earl was my first childhood hero (I can still hear that "voice" from the NFL films saying "His name is Earl Campbell") and the 3 touchdown 199 yard game is one of my childhood highlights. It's great to see him get his due in a game as a premiere running back.

After a week or so of playing I must say that (as posted above) it really was easy to get into being a fan of the old series. Also, it was fun picking and choosing your ledgends for your "dream team". It was great seeing Elway and Rice back in action and someday...mabye, I'll put together a team that doesn't have Campbell at running back...but probably not.
