Game Crash at Game Completion
Game crashed just after the boxscore and gamelog was generated. Nothing saved aside from these two files.
I am an expansion team (if that matters) and will not continue my franchise until I hear about this. I'm concerned b/c this was the only game I've played and already a crash! I'm afraid to try again! I was using "manager mode" but had all of the settings in place for the AI manager to control. My specs: HP Laptop Windows XP SP2 I can leave more detailed info on my specs, if needed, once I get home from work. Thank you and good luck! Great game! |

Ugh, I quick-simmed the same game this time and once I tried to simmed the rest of the baseball day I had the game lock up again. I don't understand because I simmed an entire season before this to get to the 2006 offseason for my expansion draft.
Here are the rest of my specs: Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 SP2 HP AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3400+ 789 MHz 512 MB of RAM |

I've seen variations of this. Crash at close. Crash when I click on a player profile for no inexplicable reason. But the results are the same, once it crashes you've effectively lost that universe. Replacing the files with backups? Doesn't matter, still doesn't reload that particular universe.
Quickstart is really the only saving grace from losing it all. I haven't reported them because I didn't figure they would be immediately repeatable and thus, wouldn't get fixed or might inadvertently with a new patch.

I've been making a ton of backup zips as I've gone...either way, this is odd and doesn't make me very happy having spent my $34.99. I'm hoping this is a resolvable issue.
Would upgrading to Vista help (or make it worse?)? |

Does anyone have an answer? I'd really like to continue using my season and get use out of the game I paid for. I'll be really disappointed if I've lost my setup because I spent HOURS setting everything up.

With this problem, I think it's generally wise to backup beforehand. Then disable facegen when you start to experience problems or if it does cause one, replace the universe's files with the backups and see what happens. I've also found saving a quickstart of the league usually gives me a safety net from losing EVERYTHING.

I've backed up things numerous times at many different stages of the offseason. I just tried things again having turned FACEGEN to only generate pics upon demand and on Jan 1st. It still crashes on March 2nd, the first day of spring training.
Dang, what could this be! The zip I have before this is during the winter meetings, which is fine, but I'm worried that simming again to spring training, I'll only encounter the same problem. I would really like to hear from someone "in the know" about whether or not this can be fixed so that I can continue to play the game! Thanks for the advice so far everyone. |

Can someone take a look at my league file and try and help me? I haven't been able to play this game since as I just can't stomach starting over...at least until the 2007 rosters come out.
I was hoping I would get some better answers from some of the developers who check this area of the forums. |

Well that's just the thing...is this an issue that has been listed as a bug? I am really excited to play the game I paid $34.99 for (or whatever it was). I don't care what "reasons" are given, there is no reason why my game should be freezing. I am not beta-testing; I have paid my money now I want things fixed please.

Update:
Mike is in the process of sending me his league to see if I can duplicate the error. I will know tomorrow afternoon.

And we have a solution.
Someone is trying for a homefield advantage. The ballpark factor for the Portland homepark is too high, causing the game to crash because of too many runs scoring. Lower the valuses to around 1.000 and the problem is solved. (Right now they are around 100) CSI: OOTP

Mike, I assume your issue was solved? If so please post back to confirm or we'll close this thread in a few days. Thx.
