Jersey wrinkles

The current jerseys don't look realistic to me. There's no wrinkles. It looks like every player has a hairdryer on full blast just below frame inflating their jersey to the fullest. Anyway, I came up with an overlay of jersey wrinkles and I thought I'd post it. It's a .png file with transparency. In your favorite graphics program, copy and paste as a new layer over your current finished jersey. It will only work with finished jerseys. If you put it on the jersey templates, OOTP will "paint" over the wrinkles when it adds the jersey's color.

Hope you enjoy....

Great work as usual, Bobble. Looks like his morale changed when you wrinkled his jersey, though.

Can I assume there'll eventually be multiple Wrinkle files, so as not to have redundant patterns?

Perhaps he was ONE step too close to the hairdryer in the before shot.

Yeah, I was thinking of that this morning. Will do. It's not very obvious on uniforms with color or pinstripes but I can see how the repetitive pattern could be noticeable on white jerseys.

That was done back in the day before FaceGen was part of OOTP. It was done with Deft's old jersey template, the demo version of FaceGen, and a bit of work in Paint Shop Pro drawing hair. Those were the days...

These are outstanding. Now, I notice that some of the shadow hangs off of the uniform outline. Is there a reason for this? Just curious.

Lazyness? Anything that hangs over doesn't get picked up when OOTP "wraps" that graphic around the 3D model. It's like the Grinch when he cuts his Santa suit out of the curtain. Whatever else I drew on the curtain stays behind.

Then he got an idea. An awful idea. The Grinch had a wonderful, awful idea.

This is a FANTASTIC addition, Bobble, as always with your contributions! I'd maybe reduce the opacity to about 50% for white jerseys, but this can easily be adjusted to taste by the end user.

What would you suggest for darker colors, like black?

Agreed. Great work.

I toned down the opacity and found that 50% adds a subtle enough difference to add some character without adding too much. (Original, 75%, 50%, None)

Where's the 50%?

Great work Bobble. As always.

My bad. That second to last one is 50%. I'll edit.

Thanks. I agree about knocking down the opacity for certain light jerseys. I think it's going to be something you might want to customize based on your jersey color as well as how close of picture you're going with. I've had pinstripe jersey's where I wasn't sure it was even there and mostly white ones that looked overdone. And even then it seems to change if I have normal zoom versus far away.

SkySpy's example looks pretty good at 50%.

For black jerseys, I'd try to make the "black" really a dark, dark grey. Then add probably a couple of shadow layers on top of it to get the shadow dark enough. Let me know how that looks if you try it.

That 50% looks about right.

Maybe you guys could use these as a reference, especially when dealing with dark uniforms:

Kccitystar is a pretty easygoing guy, I wager he'd be willing to give you permission to use them for this.
