I think you logo people are going to like this one!

Here is the concept:

I have a collection of logos. I have around 2,500 right now. Please send me your collection so I can add to it to make it the best! E-mail me at webcomedian@msn.com or check in with me with IM at said address.

Now, I put all of the logos into a folder on my server. They have names like Dragons.png, etc.

You download and install my program. AULogo. You can then download a zip file and unzip it to the logo folder on your computer. You then click on FILE - UPDATE LOGOS, and it will then download a list of the logos on my server, compare it with what you have and download any new ones that you do not have. If you did not download the zip file, then it will download all of the logos one at a time. Does not take long, but downloading the zip is much quicker.

Now, you click on FILE and SELECT LEAGUE and pick the league you want to load. It then loads in the 'leagues' in that league. (i.e. MLB, AAA, AA, etc.) It puts them in a handy drop down menu. You then select a league to work with (i.e. Anderson Baseball League). It will then populate a window with all of the teams in that league.

You click on a team in the list and and it displays the current logo in a window on the left. There is a button there that says NEW LOGO. If you click that, you can then browse the collection until you find one you like. It then copies it over to the correct folder and you move to the next team.

There is also an UPLOAD LOGO button. Click on it and you can then select a logo from your computer and upload it to my collection. This will not be added automatically to the collection, but put in a location for me to preview and then add to the collection.

Future enhancements:

Automatch logo based on team name. I have not figured out how to do that yet, but I will.

This is a utilities that I've been waiting for, it would be great for my template when I make it into a league file. But how soon will you be releasing this. Thanks for the great work

OK folks, version 1.0.1.1 is ready to try out.

Here are the steps in using the program. I have not put any error trapping in yet, so if it errors, let me know.

First enter the OOTP game and load your league. Enter the DATABASE and do a CSV dump. THIS IS REQUIRED!

OK, first go to http://www.sim2005.com/AULogo/publish.htm and click on install.

It will add the program to your start menu and when the program is launched in the future, it will check automatically for new updates to it.

It will first create a folder called C:\AU2006, if it does not already exist. Then it will create a folder called LOGOS inside it.

This folder will be empty. At this point, you can dump in your entire collection of logos into this folder. Or, you can download the collection supplied by cephasjames (Thank you!).

To download the default logo set, click on FILE - DOWNLOAD LOGOS. This may take a few minutes, as it has to download around 2500 logos. In the future, you can always click this and it will very fast, download any NEW logos.

NOTE: The logos should be in PNG format and should be 150x150. My program assumes they are the correct size. (I could add a check though)

The logos can have any kind of name. Dragons.png, The losers.png, etc.

Now, click on LEAGUE - LOAD LEAGUE and select the league you would like to use. It should not display the league location in the window at the top.

The pull down menu should now also be populated with your sub-leagues. Pull it down and select a league and you should now see a list of all the teams in that sub-league. They are not sorted, they are in the way that they are numbered in your league.

Now click on any of the teams and you should see the logo displayed on the right. Below it is a button that says NEW LOGO. Click on it and a typical file open dialog box will open. You can change the details to THUMBNAILS or whatever view you want. This is a normal windows diaglog box, so it will function just like any other. You could also browse to another location. By default, it will open up the LOGO folder. When you find the logo you want, click and select open or double click it.

The logo will now be displayed where the logo was before. Click ACCEPT LOGO and it will copy it over to the correct folder. The team name will be removed from the team list on the left.

Click on another team, pick a logo, repeat until all teams are gone from the list.

Ta da. Done. Open the OOTP game and each team should have the new logo in place.

NOTE: IE is required for the initial install.

The upload button is not working yet.

I will put some hourglasses in, so when you are clicking or selecting icons or accepting it, give it a second to load properly and to copy. It works!

Windows TIPS: Once you are in the open dialog box, click once on a file. Then hit the F key, it will zoom you right to the first F file, hit F again and it goes to next.

I was going to design my own 'browser', but why invent the wheel. I think this will work fine to grab the logos you want.

The time saver just saved more time.

Version 1.0.6.0

Create a folder, anywhere you want. Call it whatever you want. Put in a set of logos that are correctly named. (i.e. Boston_red_sox.png, Detroit_tigers.png).

Run my program, select the saved game, then select the league.

A list of the teams will be shown as usual. Hit the AUTOLOGO button. It will then popup a folder browser. Select your folder and hit OK. Bam, bam, bam. Seconds later it will be done.

It copied over all of the matching logos to the correct folder. You can now click on each team and see that each one that matched has a new logo, based on what was in that folder.

You can use the program in the normal use to change any logos or add any that are missing.

It will work on minor leagues also, if the matching logos are there.

Well, once I add the upload feature, I think this one will be done.

I have been using your autoface utility to really enhance my fictional leagues, and this will just be the icing on the cake for them.

I'm pretty sure this hasn't been addressed yet, but, is there a way to make sure each league has a logo? I see all of the teams, but not the league in the menu, thanks!

Well, every team has a logo, because the game generates the logo. I do not see a way to check to see if it has a generic logo or not.

If you see all the teams, just click on each team and it displays the teams logo.

Use the pull down menu to change to a minor league.

Ah, I see what you mean. I will take a look at that also.

I did think of a new button to add. I will add it today.

A FUZZY SEARCH button.

So, you click on the league, it shows all the teams in the league and you hit the FUZZY button. It then lets you pick a directory to search.

Let's say the team name was "Boston Red Sox". It will show you all PNG files that contain either the word BOSTON, RED or SOX. That way, you could have a Boston_Red_sox_1.png and a Boston_Red_sox_2 in the folder and you could decide which one to use.

Also, if your team was called the Orlando Ducks, it would display all the logos with the word DUCK in it.

I have added the league picture.

So, now it will display the logo for the league (MLB, AAA, etc.) on the right. You can click on it and browse to replace it.

As of 5:00pm, my server is down. It should be up soon, I will post here when it is back up.
