Removing the clock from the loading screen...

I removed it and it seemed to load faster. Is it just me or does that work for anyone else?

EDIT: The loading screen when you open the game.

I haven't had any problems with the loading speed. I barely have enough time to even notice that the clock exists.

I think it would be better if we had an option to turn the clock off, or if we could pick a different clock, like one with a digital display, for example, because I'm still a bit slow at reading analog ones. It would also be cool if we could import historical clocks from a third party database, like grandfather clocks and even really famous clocks like Big Ben.

It's a good feature, yeah, but it still needs some work.

The loading is fast except for when it loads messages. It takes forever and I don't even know where these messages are, but there must be a lot of them.

I always delete my messages but there must be tons elsewhere.

The clock sucks, if it wasn't for SI forcing the clock on Markus then he would have had more time to fix other parts of the game. Why do we need the clock now?there wasn't a clock in 6.5...

Ok sorry, I couldn't help the sarcasm there LOL

Keep up the great working making the game as good as it can be Markus

I think it would take longer for me to figure out how to get rid of it than it does for the game to load. It only takes the game like 10 seconds to load on my POS computer

How fast do we really need the game to go?
Personally i enjoy watching the season being simmed slowly because i catch more of the hidden drama within that season. Indivual performances seem more dramatic and the playoff chase is more fun to watch. Yeah i can get a lot of the news after i quick simmed a whole season but its not the same as watching it unfold. When i already know the division winner or that a player
achieved a major accomplishment, its just not as fun as watching to see if it happens. I guess kinda like watching a game after you already know the score. But i do understand the need to sim quickly if you are running some tests seasons. I dont know i guess i may be a minority in that i prefer a slower sim in comparision to a really fast sim.

I can't believe this. We have to debate the clock and should it be there, and should it be a digital clock, or a historical clock, and wouldn't it be cool if it told you the time in Ghana...

Enough.

Sheeesh.

I second it.

Hmmm...I must need to defrag my computer. The game absolutely crawls when loading and isn't very fast when simming either.

Question about defragging:
I have OOTP2006 on my D: drive. The D drive has 24.82GB of free space out of 29.29GB (84% free space). If I just defrag that, will that do it? Or would I need to defrag the rest of my drives (volumes, as Windows calls them).

Definitely should be an option. I think sundials should be an option for those of us doing very historical leagues.

Just speaking hypothetically here, but in theory you could replace the SI graphic on the loading screen with another graphic.

I've thought about that. I was considering it, but someone told me a new feature included in Patch 2 was Marc Duffy attacking you in the middle of the night on the evening following it's removal.

There's nothing hypothetical about it. I have to make my 3 yr old is not in the room when I fire the application up each night.
