Calling all commissioners, league checking service now available

In an effort to make sure the import facility within OOTP Baseball 2006 is functioning correctly, I am happy to offer a league checking service to all of you.

This service will allow us to make sure there are no unforseen problems with the import process by using real data from real leagues.

In order to take advantage of this service

a) zip the *.dat files in your ootp6/yourleague.lg folder
b) upload this zip to your webspace
c) Via this site, send me an email with the location of the file. I will download it and get someone to check it out and report back to you.

It would be interesting to see you run the league for a season and allow the leagues to compare stats.

I think it was said somewhere that it had to be Opening Day.

its never been confirmed what "opening day" means, ie. the first day after proceeding to next season (before FA, draft, ST) or the day of the first game (after FA, draft, ST)

The first day of the season is "Opening Day" and I would think that is what they referred to. The first day after proceeding to next season isn't "Opening Day." I know it hasn't been confirmed, but I think you have to go with the assumption that Markus knows what he is talking about when he says "Opening Day." I doubt he would have said it if he meant after pressing "next season."

Yea, I'm guessing there would be problems going through the off-seasons stuff right after converting from the old version. So, you'll probably have to go through the off-season in the old version and then convert.

Yes, get to the traditional opening day. Get past all the hoopla: Coaches, Scouts, FA signings, Rule 5, etc... until it sits on Day One of the schedule with games scheduled, but nothing else done.

As requested by Duffy I sent out emails about this thread to the contact addresses on file for the active leagues in the IOLD. There were too many so I had to split them up and although I did BCC the first 2, I forgot to BCC the last 2. If anyone is bothered by their address not being BCC'd, please accept my apologies.

Opening Day is defined as the day that shows up when Spring Training is run, which should be April 1st. Do not advance any days, or it won't work.

What you can do if you started the season, make a copy of the .lg folder and go to league setup, then click on reset league. That will take it back to April 1st (opening day)

Isn't RBLWebguy a beta-tester? I thought that was a very definitive answer ...
