Reports are coming in the the Sharks have acquired Joe Thornton for Marco Sturm, Brad Stuart and Wayne Primeau..... They will jumping off the Prudential Building in Boston tomorrow.... What a steal for San Jose.

There is actually a silent partner who is the one pulling the strings.

I was kind of expecting this, but it still blew me away when it happened. Thorton's days in Beantown have been numbered for a long, long time... I still don't understand why the two side agreed to a contract over the summer.

Trading away your captain, franchise player, and the face of the team?

Un****ing believable! The Predators are my favourite NHL team, but the Bruins are a close second.

So they could at least get something for him.

I'm shocked about this too though.

It's the "NEW" NHL... player worth isn't the only factor anymore. The Bruins just added two extra players & saved money...

Way to go Bruins. I'd encourage to keep trading their quarters for three nickels, but they don't have any left to trade. I'm not a big hockey guy, but even I know this is highway freakin' robbery. Listening to Dale Arnold tomorrow morning on the radio should be amusing.

Primeau is crap, but Sturm and Stuart are solid players. Certainly not stars though. Thornton is irreplaceable. Horrible trade for the Bruins. (yay!)
