Well everyone is all shook up but this should be an interesting ride at the very least.

The only things I noticed thus far were the delays in response-time on the sigame reg process and the disconcerting realization that my birth year was so damn long ago that it didnt even appear on the option list field. Its like being dead and not having been notified yet.

Right, I see your point, but how much are we talking here though. I mean, if it's 34.95 as a DL now, when you buy it from Viatech on a CD it's 44.95. Now, granted with this you'll see a massive amount of CD's being printed, so maybe an extra $10 per a game isn't going to happen, but look at all the people bitching about the 34.95 being too much. Anything more than 34.95 will just bring more gripes from the masses. Anyway, I would still like to get an offical word on DL being there or not, so I can just get it over my broadband services instead.

Blimey, if you think that was a delay sometimes it can take around 3 hrs to approve since it's a manual program.

Because of the amount of users we have, we have to pay special attention as we do seem to attract a large % of idiotic people intent on causing us problems

I always thought that 34.95 was a pretty good deal. Guess we'll just have to wait and see..

I wish Markus all the best in the venture. He has provided me hours upon hours of baseball simulation fun over the past three plus years. Best of luck as things continue! However, after reading all that I have so far this morning, I am extremely apprehensive about the direction the OOTP franchise is taking. I hope my hesitant feelings prove to be unfounded! It’s hard to put it all in words. Some folks have already expressed my concerns.

Regardless, I wish all the best to Markus and the OOTP community!

(and PLEASE, let the message boards stay separate from that CM community. PLEASE!)

So did I, but we don't represent a 100% of the boards. LL, I am casting a hesitant eye also.

First, congrats.

Second, for a guy like me who:
1) Never heard of CM/FM and could care less about soccer.
2) ONLY plays OOTP online

HOW will this partnership improve OOTP? Tangibles, please...

Congratulations to Markus, I hope this merger will be great for him and for the OOTPB Community.

Marcus:

Will you have the time to spend on refining OOTP6 for the next 18 months and also develop the SI version?

Will you take care of OOTP6 before working on the next version?

It would make sense get OOTP6 as good as possible and then use it to develop the next version.

Regular updates would keep my interest until the SI/OOTPB comes out.

Mark or Mark:

Thanks for taking the time to answer our questions. You have made a good first impression.

Does Football Manager ever intend to have 3D graphics, and if so, When.?

The Mayor has summed up my feelings perfectly. I guess that's why he's the Mayor.

Henry should create a sticky listing all members who predict impending doom so that in 18 months when the next OOTP comes out ("Baseball Manager"?) and it's magnificent, we can all lambast those naysayers.

On the flipside, it would also allow us to kiss their asses when the whole thing goes the way of the marriage to .400 Studios and leaves us with a version of OOTP that went places Markus did not intend nor approve.

I guess the upside beats out the limited downside (which is basically lost time), so I'll have to sound off on approving this. I wonder if all the whining about a release date led Markus to this decision, since now we have to wait a year and a half and there probably won't be anyone to listen when people start complaining.

Marc, I registered and it says I'm logged in on the front page, but when I go to reply to a post it asks for me to relogin and when I do it says my login failed.

EDIT: I tried the lost password feature and now it says no account was registered with this email. Uhh, but I got an activation confirmation email to it. Lag?

EDIT2: I just found out you have to register for both the site _and_ the forum. Well that certainly is silly and inconvenient. I hope that's not a sign of things to come for OOTP.
