IMO we are best off abandoning that sinking ship that is Off Topic to the rats infesting it and just starting a whole new Baseball Forum from scratch.

"The first version of the SI version of Out of the Park Baseball is scheduled for a late 2005 release."

Does this mean a release is imminent?

Congrats.
OOTP melted with CM's stuff, imagine that. It's going to be a long wait.

This can only be a great thing!
The makers of the best baseball management simulation joining the makers of the best football (soccer) management simulation.
IMHO, Championship Manager is one of the best sports management sim of any kind.
It should be fun!

Is this forum going to stay the main forum for OOTP, or is the SI page gonna be the new home for OOTP ???

This worries me as well. That would be a really crappy thing. Those boards are run like no other i have seen. Is CM still an SI game? I know there was a squabble over the programming and naming rights.

I'd like to think our (SI's) boards are very much similar in setup to this one

Sports Interactive are the creators of the Championship Manager series. Last year we announced that we we're parting ways with Eidos

In February, we announced a five year deal with Sega for all studio output - this has seen us capture the brand Football Manager and this game is set to be released in the latter part of this year

We were able to keep the code, whilst Eidos retained the name ...

Eidos (SI's former publisher) will keep the Championship Manager name only, while the game itself is still SI's and will be published by Sega using the Football Manager name.

I am very excited to see that OOTP is now part of the SI fold. The only problem is, how am I going to find the time to play Eastside Hockey Manager:FE, Football Manager, and OOTP!

I was wondering if something might be up when I saw Marc Vaughn from SI posting a little while back. Congrats Markus!

I'm looking forward to the "next level" of OOTP. This game is definitely the leader in its field, and this move should allow it to not only retain that leadership - but ensure its lead is further improved.

I suspect there will be some disappointments as the organization is flushed out, but the net result will, without doubt, be worth the effort

I think this will certainly play a big part, we've only signed (for now) one title from the OOTP Development stable ... who knows in the future ..........

If nothing else, a little press for Title Bout on the SI site would be good for the Trunzos.
