I am truly disgusted at some of the people that have been responding in this thread. For God's sake a man, a husband, a father lost his life today. This will be a tragic horribly life altering experience for Mrs. Lidle, their son, his extended family, his friends, his many teamates over the years and his fans. But yet there's people in here making jokes about it. You disgust me. At least Mr. Cory Lidle did something with his life, can those of you mocking this say that? or do you prefer to pretend to act "cool" on an internet message board?

Well I don't know what camp I've been placed into , but I can say that I've done something with life.

What that is remains to be seen, but it is something.

It doesn't matter if they posted here, or if I know them personally. They are human beings just like I am. and I have lost loved ones and am a father and a husband to be. So I know how hard it would be to lose one of the girls in my life. You are so heartless and crude

It's a lost cause, AP. There are some people around here that have no respect for other human beings, and trying to convince them that this is a flaw will just be greeted with taunts.

It's true. The other day I was walking down to the store with treedom and he began to viciously kick a vagrant and beat him with a metal pipe. When I told him to stop he explained to me that he had no respect for human life and what he was doing was really no different than hitting a tree or a fire hydrant. Certainly a strange fellow.

True, because, get this, I found some receipts in treedom's pocket the a week or two ago. I wasn't spying or anything, I just needed to borrow a quarter for the bus (I was going to replace it), but I was reading the receipts and I realized that he had been dealing in nuclear secrets with North Korea. Really, I'd suspected it after he told me he wasn't really all that broken up over Ray Charles' death, but to have it hit me in the face like that was really something.

If you don't want to say anything respectful about a guy you didn't know, you don't have to. It's easy to not post, and no one would call you out for not posting. There's no reason to make snide remarks at those who do, though.

Humanity is in a tail spin because some people are becoming so dogmatic over behavior. I don't believe for a minute you care about Corey Lidle more than others do, and typing mourning words on a message board is so cheap that even the most evil person in the world can easily do it. Don't try to pretend that's something noble and caring.

On the other hand, your approach of trying to look down on fellow board members who simply don't act the way you expected is quite cold and lacked humanity. We are not robots who must follow strict rules to post.

In this world, there are all kind of cultures and philosophies regarding how we should behave toward incidents like this, and everyone would react a little differently. You probably can learn to respect that a little bit more. We are real people trying to interact with you here.
