The Ozark Bobcats picked up Hack Wilson at a cheap price to replace Andre Dawson as the right handed DH. In his first game he hit two HRs!!

nothing quite as frustrating as watching your team go on an 11 game winning streak (beating some of the top teams in the league), only to go on to lose 3 o 4 games against the worst team in the league

I had said to myself I wasn't gonna check PT at all for two weeks. Naturally, yesterday the team went on a 10 game winning streak to offer the illusion of being a factor down the stretch. Today's not gone well. However, I'm given some sense of hope considering Dave Cash, a mid-season acquisition, is hitting .352 for me in 193 at bats. If he can hit close to that next season when I change the ballpark factors again, we may have a chance.

nah.... you're selling your boys short.... they have double that in wins against the Syrups this season (4-11) we have a 4 game series left to finish out the season

I guess I can't say my boys don't have their fate in their own hands this season..... currently in third place, 2 games back of the lead.... only 6 games remaining.... 2 against the 2nd place team (Waxsaw) and 4 against the first place team (Annandale).... only downside in this 3 team race is whoever ends up in third place will most likely miss the post season, as the top wild card team is probably going to come from the AC West (though Hartford and Sanguine play each other for the final series of the year, so who knows....)

The Cowboys have clinched a wildcard spot in their first year in Diamond. I kind of hope I don't get promoted to Perfect without so much as a cup of coffee in Diamond. Perfect will be a strange purgatory where I can't compete with the top teams, and there won't be an Our League to play for, at least for a while.

The Vikings hit over 300 home runs in their inaugural season to shatter the 2018 Yankees MLB record (267?). Despite this they're dead last in their division! Maybe we can afford pitchers someday.

Asheboro lost 2 out of 3 to Ozark in the final sim, so this would confirm the Ozark Bobcats as Our League champions of B272. The only way we will have an Our League matchup is if Daytona Beach meets Philadelphia in the Bronze-level series. Otherwise, that's the season done and dusted.

As for an individual update...the New York Patriots finished 76-86, cobbling together a 34-29 record after the All-Star Break, which helped keep them comfortably out of relegation danger, and will be spending a 4th season in Bronze. They have yet to finish with a winning record at this level.

Offensively, we were led by DH Orlando Cepeda, who hit .295 with 13 HR and 90 RBI. Bob Boone led the way power-wise with 17 HR's, while putting together a respectable .291 batting average, as the Patriots finished 3rd in the National Conference in hitting. Unfortunately, based on batting WAR, most of those hits were fairly meaningless.

Pitching-wise, the whole group was abysmal, but leading a weak bunch was Burleigh Grimes, who split time between the rotation and the bullpen, going 9-6 with a 3.17 ERA in 61 games (15 starts). Speaking of that bullpen, the relievers were pushed very hard this season because of starting pitching incompetence. Leading the way were closer Gene Garber (8-8, 2.63, 30 saves) & Mike Jackson (3-2, 3.51, 124 K's in 85 appearances).

Final team vs team stuff will be sent Sunday afternoon.

Back of the envelope calculation says: it's complicated! If FRA wins 8+ of their remaining OL games they clinch regardless of what else happens. Otherwise it's messy. Since FRA is playing GK and MOT the odds favor the Retros to bring home the crown.

Can I assume that these are the final standings for G305? By the way, it came to me that your name was familiar to me because of the enjoyment I got from reading your FHM Dynasty blog. That was the first OOTP game I played, since hockey is the only sport I follow at all anymore, specifically the Rangers. I have OOTP 16 on, but never played them until PT. Thanks for joining Our League. It's nice to have a legend on board.

In a stunning (to me) development, the Arkham Horrors swept their 3 OL games in September and Frankenthal lost just enough to let the Horrors sneak by. The Horrors win the crown!

Post-season analysis says FRA "only" won 6 of their 10 OL games in September, going 2-1 vs MOT and 4-3 vs GK. As it turns out, ARK sweeping MUD gave them just enough wins to squeak by.

In S278, Palolo could only wait, having finished their schedule. Fate smiled upon them as late charges by Salem and Waffletown fell just short, while Sanguine split four games with Terra Incognita. It is the Puppies second crown.
