The rules are posted in a sticky on the General Discussions board. I had never even clicked on that FAQ link until today, but it should direct to that sticky.

I read the rules. Looks to me like there were several warnable offenses in the locked threads. Surely not everyone committed a warnable offense, so why punish everyone when the few could be warned or punished.

The rule about reserving the right to close a thread for any reason basically says that no rules apply to closing threads and mods can do whatever they want. Yet its interesting in the past explanations have been given for locking threads which means some mods think there has to be a reason (rules violation) to lock a thread.

There are ample warnings about the characteristics of the OT forum. Why not move threads there instead of locking them?

The link in the FAQ does not work. The sticky I linked to does work.

What happened is the rules used to be in an "announcement" which the FAQ linked to, but announcements were disabled at some point and so Andreas posted a new sticky and he must not have remembered that the FAQ was pointing to the old link.

totally off topic sooo.... yes some sort of mod archive would be nice

mod links ARE built into OOTP - Add Ons Central - but the only thing I have found, for years now, is a couple of skin files. Which is fine I use Classic

point is using this Add On link should be a doable thing by someone who knows how to set it up. Which aint me

hell there is even a button for 'add a server'

See, I remember it being in the 1970's. Might be wrong, but I doubt I would even remember it if it was in the 1930's.

It was a long time ago, I could be wrong. I don't recall thinking "what the hell", at the time, which makes me think '30's. If it was the 70's? Yeah, that should draw some fire. I mean if you want to do it in your own home, who's going to know. But if you post it online? You should expect a response.
