on top of that.... do NOT overlook the Perfect Draft tourneys... in v23 you get two entries (vs just one in v22)... doesn't matter what cards you have on your actual roster, in PD you draft your 26 cards from the pool presented to you... so with a little luck, you get the right combo of cards and nab some prizes (I already won one of the PD tourneys I entered... huzzah! now just need to win the one with the 50K point prize or something )

Oh yeah!! PDs are great, I was really close to getting a card reward in one of the dailies already, but in the end I got 9-16 netting me 1k, but I've been really active in PDs so far, and I've been doing pretty well in them too.

Really solid advice on tourneys from Stanley. In terms of your roster builds, make sure your depth chart is smart enough to keep players as well rested as they can be. I've got 3 varied iron teams on the go and the one that isn't great (lots of live players) is still picking up a few packs.

I've been running those iron teams in the entry league (because it saves soo much hassle) and the best one is actually climbing the table now . It's also given me a chance to see how the players fare away from the crazy tourney environment

Thank you all for the advice. I'm starting to get the hang of it. Honestly, I didn't even know the non-draft tournaments existed! (I prefer the draft mode for the fun of it, but I can see the other can be a lot more profitable)

Just a couple more questions. Does a player's positional experience carry over between modes? (i.e. can I train a guy to play LF in a tournament and have it carry over to the main mode? and vice versa)

Also, since we can't add friends does this mean that the league won't start this week? And therefore we don't need to get our rosters compliant with the rules yet? Or do we still need to?

No, training only carries over in leagues.
For tournaments treat it like it is a new card, players will not learn new positions for tournaments.
My team is pretty terrible right now, but I am trying to get a decent amount of cash to save up for a good player. It is a long season though!

Did they ever mention anywhere whether training would carry over from the Entry pool to the regular leagues? I know that in the past it's been that they don't carry over, but I was just wondering if that's how it's definitely going to be this year as well.

The opening day squad of the Auckland Athletics has just been finalised... at least... I think?

I can't get the friends feature to work. Is that the same for everyone else? Guess that'll delay the opening day for the Athletics by a week. Nevertheless, I think I'll roll out this squad and leave any live players I've got on the bench regardless of whether it's a OL week or not.





I've been sticking to packs only for team building. I know it's not the most efficient method but I think I'll stick to it for the fun of it. My catching situation is a bit grim but I think I've been pretty lucky with packs so far.

Might have a new player to add soon. I'm in the final four of a weekly perfect draft and guaranteed a card!

Happy with what I've got; currently 91-74 in the Entry League. Guessing that will land me in Bronze. If the Friends list doesn't work for tomorrow, I'll post any changes next Sunday.

That's a beauty! I do believe there's gonna be a major quality upgrade in OL's graphics this time around. I ended up registering my teams, and actually opened up packs for one. However, we're working 12 hours a day, , so I won't be giving any attention to that team except on Sunday morning or evenings. I won't be joining OL anytime soon, but I'll be a loyal follower.
I got pretty lucky with the first pulls, in terms of low live cards and was able to get the attached card (with the swell patch) for a little over 2K in card buys. My PT is behaving pretty badly, and I can't open packs without the game crashing unless I turn off the 3D. OOTP offered a couple of suggestions that didn't work, so I'm not gonna open any Mundys packs until they fix the problem. I know others, including Magus, are also having the same problem, so I'm guessing they'll get to it. I just hope I don't lose the Brooks Robinson while my packs sit.

Anyway, good luck to you all, and maybe I'll catch up later.

Some of you have some real nice pack luck going. I was fortunate enough to win 2nd in one of the first perfect drafts and netted a bunch of coins. Instead of just grabbing the best guys for my team I finished off a bunch of the 20 team collections that got me a few players of note. Also was able to get the complete Tigers collection done which gave me 85 Greenberg. I’ll see how some of my later entices did tonight and post my opening day roster.

Neither Belo Horizonte (timmcdaniel) nor Bordeaux (ziphbarrett) have begun play as of yet. Fort Davis is struggling in the entry pool, but should be OL-compliant...and not very good...by tomorrow morning.
