Snider I did the same - platooned in the OF. Balanced player with some pop. He’ll do well in Diamond for SURE. I ended up moving him but more because I had other more imminent needs vs not getting results from him.

Just go easy on the Gryphs.

Thanks for the info! I didn't know you had a perfect team. Nice pun (yours, not mine), by the way.

As to your Gryphs... Tell that to your Gold team. We're only 2-5 against them this year and if we get lucky enough to make the playoffs (we're only 20-22 since June), we might get to play them. I doubt that will go well for my guys, but I have a better team now so who knows?

It’s been a fun but funny season so far. I can’t remember this Red team being so pathetic at the plate. Seems all my guys are having their career worst year at the same time. I guess it’s a tough pitching and defence division but how can they go from WS champs to the 14th ranked offence in the conference. At the same time the Gold team is on fire second year in a row. Never seems to lead them anywhere but they’re playing great this year again.

yeah, right now I'm just hoping they can tread water enough to avoid relegation..... anything better than that will be a miracle

And I'm sure they'll stay on fire seeing as they have a bunch of series with the Indians left. The Indians have quit on their manager

Now that we're done playing each other, I'm all for you re-syruping down the infield and outfield in Waffletown. If you can slow down some of our mutual opponents a bit, we can both benefit lol

I'll see if I can mire them in a molasses of mediocrity and hope it doesn't backfire and ensnare my own players

Congrats to Chazzycat's Willie Mays who won the all star MVP! The NC beat the AC 7-1.
On a side note, my Albert corked a 2 run shot in the fifth. The umps quickly confiscated his bat. Jason Grimsley was caught two innings later in the ventilation duct trying to replace said bat with a non-corked one.

My Clippers seems to have forgotten how to win. After starting the month 6-1, we're now 3-12 and have fallen to .500. I finally have a team that I feel is good enough to compete for a division title, but it's not looking like this will be the season for that. Our hitters just can't seem to get on track. Is it just me or does it seem like pitching is doing better this season than "normal"?

Yes I definitely concur. See my comments about my Red team. Almost every guy in my lineup is well below career averages. I have to believe the NC is just loaded with pitching this year.

Now? They're killing it. And they even have PP to spend too, just waiting to save up enough and find the right fit for that roster.

And my developers roster has forgotten how to hit, and also how to pitch. And I can't even make a lot of changes, since they're practically at the cap. They're still at .500, and have to turn it around soon, but definitely dug themselves a nice hole.

And the River Devs at least have picked it up a little bit today, since this morning when I logged on I was starting to get worried that they'd be in danger of relegation. Although I've partly stopped caring about them, just gotta wait another couple days to get up to 5k in the bank and go rip 5 more packs. Much easier than trying to scour the auction house.

What a nice turnaround for your Developers and River Devs teams. Your Developers are now only 1 GB and are 21 over .500. And your River Devs recently beat up on my Clippers and are now in the WC lead like your Developers are. Pretty cool!

Well, the Bandits manager will be away for the reason of the season & playoffs, if needed, so this team is on its own - and right as they're fighting for the last wildcard spot, too! Congrats to Daytona for really pulling away with the division - best record in the league! And we still have to play you 10 more times this year.

And Toronto Developers, that 9-game winning streak looks mighty nice.

Standings as we head into August:

(July another dismal month for my boys.... but looking on the bright side, the Syrups are undefeated in August! Woot! 1-0 I can head to work and bask in that glory all day until I get home)

My Clippers pitching provided some nice batting practice for the Wyoming Coyotes (#2 in R), being outscored 30-10 in 4 games. Now the top run scoring team (the Toronto River Devs) is coming to town and the way we're pitching right now, this might not be pretty. Somehow, we're #3 in RA, but we're 15th in R so it's surprising we're still above .500. By this time last year, we finally got hot so maybe the team will surprise me and start playing consistently well.

Speaking of playing consistently well... Matt's Developers team had a 10 game winning streak, lost 1 and now has won 9 straight. I've never had a winning streak of 9 or more games even once. Totally not fair! [Where's the whining emoticon?]

Wow. The developers team is now apparently 27-3 in their last 30 games. Considering the Gold Devs are 12-19 in their last 31, that's a pretty big swing between those two teams once the calendar turned over to July.

Just as I feared, we're now getting hammered by the River Devs. I noticed the weather report says "Partly Cloudy, baseballs blowing out to right at 110 mph".

Edit: I blame lack of sleep for this post.

Surprisingly enough, that's the same forecast at my stadium when your Clippers floated into town. I suspect by 6:30pm your Clippers will be sailing on their merry way out of town with a completed 4 game sweep.
