I wasn't particularly. I think my poll shows that there is some disagreement about which is best, so the answer is an option.
Obviously if it's a stupid amount of work then don't worry about it. Last edited by Cryomaniac; 02-15-2010 at 09:03 AM. |

AHH!
That's a lot better looking now! That was a great eye there LGO. I especially like the small 1/2 symbols. It does, indeed, look much cleaner, and more elegant. Now, perhaps adding alternating shade of lighter and darker gray for each row? It doesn;t have to be terribly obvious, but just enough for the eye to take in the data at a glance much easier. |

I agree, the Title Rows are fine. I would just add perhaps a subtle alternating light and dark gray for each team row, to make it easier to glance at, and absorb the data.

In the Standings Screen Shot, why is the SL1 Division 1 background blue? I couldn't imagine it's the mouseover effect since the mouse is down on a team.

But as an overall design, it does kind of give it a more "cluttered" look. I was thinking in terms of my own personal practicality of the matter. |

Darn. Markus, you have done it again. Another OOTP pre-ordering coming up.
I like this new display a lot: "We have added a few useful notes, for example when there are interesting players available on the trading block or waiver wire, or when certain staff positions are not occupied in your organization." Any changes to the widget? And that new 1/2 standing display is so much better. Like it should really be. Last edited by BusterKing; 02-15-2010 at 12:34 PM. Reason: Info added |

At least give SL2 the blue background so it breaks up the two sub leagues. EDIT: I can't believe we're arguing over halves and title row backgrounds.

I suppose you mean the breaking up of the two leagues. Thanks, but this was only a minor problem IMO. Now that I think about it...

I can't say I care too much about the standings screen in particular, but I sure hope that for most stuff you keep the alternating row colors, even if they're only a very slight change in color. Don't get rid of the mouse-over effect (well, I'd consider changing it to a color that stands out more, the background or the text, like spreadsheets do it), but keep the alternating background colors. Here's an idea, program in a different color id for the alternating rows and if you really want to have no difference in your default then have both ids that same color. Then for those of us who really want alternating row colors we can just change the color associated with one of the ids. Problem solved and everyone's happy!

Regarding the other screens, I will consider making it an option.

Any chance we can get a sneak peek of the draft negotiation page in the newest screeny?

Much better, yes. Isn't it interesting how small changes can have a large effect on the look of something?
If I am being really nitpicky (and I am when it comes to typography/design items—sorry can't help myself!), I might add just a touch more space. Either that, or add a highlight behind the header rows. It doesn't have to be a strong colour, even just a subtle shading can work wonders. Quote:
01 02½ 10 13½ I expect this can't be done with normal column alignment commands, which are usually just left, centre, right, and decimal point. It could be done by giving the ½ part of the GB its own column. The whole number GB is right aligned; the ½ column is immediately to the right of it, but is blank unless the GB ends in a half, in which case the ½ is displayed in the column. |
