Penguins Represent in ST186
Algoma displays OL pride in taking a Series title. Congratulations!
That wraps up the week. Hopefully we don't get too scattered next week and the issue gets fixed. |

Major grats to all winners! Hats off especially to my fellow-competitors in Algoma.
![]() I'm pleased to report that Al Brazle did win the American Conference Cy Young Award, with a 20-8 record and a 3.03 ERA. Way to go, Al!

So long, Stephensville (and Clyde and Harlem)
Despite the reports to the contrary, baseball never left the towns of Harlem, Clyde, and Stephensville. Even though the franchises relocated -- they can currently be found in West Burlington, Gear Terrace and South Holland -- most of the original players were locked in the PT20 universe and have been enjoying the last months with little interference, or help, from management.
The final tally for these clubs are... Harlem Hatchets: Franchise record, 8456-9367, .474 PCT. Appeared 28 times in playoffs. Won 1 Silver, 1 Diamond, 1 Perfect title. Their best player, Walter Johnson (the first perfect card I ever pulled) ended his career with a 1900-1126 record. The final Hatchets' game was a playoff loss to the Mudville Muffins (eventual champs). Clyde Truckers: Franchise record, 8541-9281, .479 PCT. Appeared 35 times in playoffs, with 3 Diamond championships. Ironically, their last game was against the Harlem Hatchets, whom they beat, 4-1. Walter Johnson was the losing pitcher. Both Harlem and Clyde ended in Diamond. Everyone's favorite lovable losers in OL play were the Stephensville Bears. After OL, they did much better. Stephensville Bears: Franchise record, 9208-8615, .517 PCT Appeared 51 times in playoffs, with 1 Iron, 1 Gold, 1 Silver title. Spent last five seasons in perfect.

Here they are with OL crowns from past seasons. I think Harlem only had that one. Last edited by Stanley Kuppchaser; 05-02-2021 at 10:56 PM. |

Lay of the Land in B248
Don' t think we lost anyone in bronze, and the spread of the teams should ensure teams get a decent amount of OL games. Iron and stone should have enough, but things got a bit fractious with the list beyond that. Doesn't seem a total disaster, considering the program bug. I'm sure Jason will figure it out, as usual.

Urgh, after the damp squib of the Silver playoffs, Paxville and Texarkana are in separate conferences AGAIN in Gold, with zero games. At least for the Kings, I would say promotion is unlikely, so fingers crossed for some OL action next week! <sighs>
Got my first diamond BAL last night, and close to a couple more. Frustratingly though, I've got stuck needing just 3 more cards to complete the live missions (1 Dodger, 1 Met, and 1 Redsox) which just won't drop! Of course, (apart from Hack) those 3 missions are stopping me from getting the toppers that I really want .Above all, here's hoping that the Friends List gets sorted asap!

sheet updated.... our two Gold teams are in the same league, 3 of 4 Silver teams, all Bronze teams, 9 of 10 Iron teams, 6 of 8 Stone teams, and Rookie is in three different leagues of 3 teams, 2 teams and 1 team
here's hoping that patch shows up this week ![]() Silver layout - all three OL teams in different divisions (figures), though wouldn't have a crown anyway with just the three of us |

I share your frustration about the way friends list teams get spread in PT. When there's just a few and you want them together, they get split far apart. Then, when there's 10 or 12 and it would be nice to have them spread apart for playoff possibilities, they put four or five in one division and three in another, and we end up with orphans who get 10 OL games. I do hope it does get fixed this week, such as it is. One last thing. I bet over the years, since they introduced the friends list, I have probably posted nearly 10 times, offering thoughts or suggestions and have never had even one acknowledgement that my of my posts was read, let alone considered. Ah, well. |

6 teams. Will be interesting to see if Gear Terrace or Left Coast get enough games to qualify for OL title.

One thing that would help a ton... if the OOTP team would at least tell us the "rules set" of the routine that decides how to distribute teams from the friends list. I assume the friends list is handled first - likely has some restrictions (like can a 30 team league consist of only "friends" or is there a top limit?) Once a list of friends teams is assigned to a league, are they distributed randomly between the 6 divisions? What happens if a friends list has 50 names on it? A summary of these restrictions / rules would give us an idea of what to expect - rather than always having to ask the same questions.

Boy, oh boy, did my PT teams have a rich running history of battling those Bears and that is why the Bears will always be one of my top favorite OL opponents of all-time! Quote:
As much as I would like to see the option for us to be able to play only Free to Play teams, I am guessing the OOTPD doesn't want to allow the possibility for PT players to have the ability to "isolate" themselves like that. Whatever they can do to cater to the "High Rollers" is going to be what they do from now on. If you are a "old-head" of this game series and if you are not pouring hundreds and hundreds of dollars into the game to buy PP, then you are not going to be part of their future. Starting with the option to buy PP with real money, that is where OOTPD drew a line in the sand and it is a whole new ball game as far as they are concerned. For us old-heads who love and desire the challenge and excitement of playing PT for free, we are already being left behind, as was so well plainly seen in their role out of the Master Series. |

Does anyone know what is an example of a 5 star play?
I was awarded 800pp for having three 5 star plays in one single game in which I lost 5-0! ![]() ![]() ![]()

and while it's a small sample size (6 games into the season), it appears that the random number gods have already deemed my group of SE cards are going to be the bottom performers out of all the SE cards in the league, as we are off to an 0-6 start and 15th ranked across the board in offense and defense
![]() at least I won't have to pay much attention to things for a week.... figure I'll be dropping back to Bronze after a 10-152 season or so

With only 256 spots, they could have made it more fair for guys who actually work or do not have access to a computer at exactly 12 noon. To be fair, and add more excitement to it, they should have had a multi-day sign-up period and then held a lottery to see who the lucky 256 were. Quote:
Boy, isn't the main requirement for a Master Card commercial......Priceless??? ![]() You need to give you and your team more credit....maybe a 11-151 season would be more realistic! ![]() Quote:
Once I found out that you use the cards in your own PT22 collection, I quickly backed away from the whole idea as that is an invitation to a Whale-Only Tournament. And if you sign up, you are required to play in all six tournaments spread out through the summer and fall. Who's interested in getting your butt handed to you again, and again, and again? ![]() Not me. They already have something similar to this going on in PT and it is called a "Open Tournament"! In there, you only get your butt handed to you once!
