Hey Markus, could you add the death music sound effect when we remove the pitcher?

You guys remember that on the second trip to the mound in Microleague?

Daa-du-dat-da...
Ah, yes. The music and sound effects were awesome. I'm hoping we can add animation of the player pegs coming on to the field from the baselines like they did in ML II.

That screenshot, btw, is from the black-and-white Mac version. (Mac Plus, etc.)

If we get what MicroLeague Baseball had...I will be in heaven. And possibly retired / unemployed.

This.

Waiting to see a video of it in action. Also want to see how badly it slows down the game.

Still - step in right direction, to be sure.

Very amusing! Mind you, this version does have one small advantage over what I saw in the available screenshot. Namely, this classic version fields a catcher whereas OOTP17 appears to have omitted that player in the 3D display.

Ahh... Microleague Baseball. The days of taking an hour to do the stats yourself and being able to use Rob Dibble as a starter and destroy strike out records.

Oops! My error. On closer inspection of the provided screen shot, there is a blue-capped player at the plate and a red-capped player appearing to approach first base. I surmise that the blue-capped player is the catcher (other fielders also have blue caps) and that the red-capped player is the batter running to first.

I cant imagine that would ever happen. Baseball has so many more games then every other sport you pretty much have to have a sim engine. In all my years of playing OOTP (all of them) I think i have only played a full 162 about 3 times.

I did once with the help of friends and the free time of my 20s play out the entire AL season for every single team in the league on earl weaver baseball in the late 80s. Then again we had to because games didn't sim any games in those days. If you wanted stats you had to play the games.

Another thing I would happily pay add on prices for.

Baseball Nostalgia.

the only thing I think the old games that OOTP doesn't was the earl weaver stadium generator and the tony la russa beautifully crafted stadiums (amazingly still half of my OOTP ballparks come from that game)

what we dont remember is how bad and cumbersome the stat tracking and roster management was. third party utilities, separate discs and loads of restrictions and errors.

but good memories and yes I still have the original disks.

Wow! Talk about memory lane!

This is awesome! Great stuff.

I'm so happy Markus and Andreas (and Matt) have moved us far beyond this!

That's actually something that makes sense as DLC. Fictional stadium packs would be very cool. Of course I suspect the community will provide some anyway, but still.

it's because of games like this in the past, that we have games like MLB the Show and OOTP.
