Johnstown Johnnies

Titusville was the beginning of the oil industry in the United States. A team could be called the Titusville Drillers. It has a ring I think .

Pittsburgh Three Rivers(or Keystones)?

Johnstown Johnnies(A real baseball name, not my idea)

Oil City Oilers(you already did this for me, but could be used as a minor team)

Keeping up with the oil theme, the Oil Creek Boomers(Oil creek valley is a region the encompasses Titusville and Oil City. If you used one of them, this one might not make sense.)

Franklin Knights(No real historical significance, but you did the logo for me.)

Indiana Miners (Had a big coal mining industry in the early 20th century.)

State College Lions?

New Castle Pyros?(A big player in the fireworks industry)

There is also a lot of native american history in SW PA. I'm not sure about a city and nickname.

Just some ideas I'd be happy with anything you come up with.
A couple of options for the Johnnies. I think that I like the two non-red versions the best.

You could even have the Woonsocket Naps to honor Napoleon Lajoie (like Cleveland did).

Anyway, I'm following this project of yours very closely, since I live just across the border, and I often travel to Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. I can't wait to see what you'll come up with. I know it's gonna be amazing!
Thanks for the suggestions and info, it's much appreciated. It gives me the idea that one of the Maine teams could use Acadians as well. As DC noted, the Woonsocket Naps is fantastic.

I appreciate the help, EC. It's going to take me awhile to get through this league so take your time with your research.

BRIDGEPORT

Bridgeport Barnums (for the P. T. Barnum Circus... housed in Bridgeport for years... it was Barnum's home).

Bridgeport Clowns (circus connection)

Bridgeport Big Tops (circus connection)

Bridgeport Greens (town is known as "The Park City"... Barnum and others donated land for Seaside Park, which now covers 375 acres... Seaside Park was designed by Central Park's architect, Frederick Law Olmsted... home of the Frisbee.
The circus references are particularly good to me.

I had played OOTP quite some time ago but then shelved it for several years. Recently, I had stumbled across this thread, picked up OOTP15, and have been thoroughly enjoying adding these franchises into a fictional league.

Once again, many thanks for reviving my interest in OOTP!

As an aside, I'm a terrible graphic artist so, thought I would add some team names into the mix as a contribution:

Worcester
- Hearts is a fantastic franchise name

Burlington
- Maple Sox (those jerseys and logo are probably my favourite set in this thread)
- Sugar Maples (may also be a nice alternate to Maple Sox)

Hartford
- Charter Oaks (fantastic!)
- Bushnells (after Bushnell Park, the oldest publicly funded park in the US)
- Brokers (referring to the nickname as the "Insurance Capital of the World")
- Whalers (the hockey fan in me would love to see the return of the whale)

Bridgeport
- Big Tops (circus connection)
- Showmen (circus connection and, a reference to PT Barnum)
- Spectacle (circus connection)
- Ringmasters (circus connection)

Springfield
- Firsts (in reference to the nickname as the "City of Firsts")
- Victorians (called the "City of Homes", a reference to the architecture found in the city, most of which is Victorian)
- Mulberries (named after the street which sparked the famous Dr. Seuss book)

New Haven
- Elms ("the Elm City")
- Puritans (founded by English puritans in 1638)
- Greens (reference to New Haven Green, a National Historic Landmark)
- Beacons (reference to Five Mile Point Lighthouse)

Portland
- Beacons (reference to Portland Head Light)
- Lobsters
Thank you for the kind words and for taking the time to post all of these suggestions. I really like the idea of the New Haven Elms, but I am a bit worried about having.the Maple Sox, Charter Oaks and Elms all in the same league. I don't want to overdo it, but if any region could pull that off, I suppose it would be New England. You have some really unique and good ideas in your post - thank you again.

1900's Logos

Worked on some Knuckler style logos today for my 1901 historical league. Thanks to Knuckler and everyone for providing the inspiration and artwork for these! Here's what I came up with:

I'd love suggestions or criticism, that's how we improve.

I'm probably biased but I love any "[Blank] City" name. It's amazing how common those names were in the 1800s but were seemingly gone by 1900.

Here's a link to a vintage base ball league in Hartford that uses Charter Oak and Nutmegs for team names: Friends of Vintage Base Ball II Coltsville Vintage Base Ball League

Sadly, at the moment, I'm running a little low on criticisms. These are NICE!! Love the Boston Americans one in particular.

Great stuff!!

Thanks in advance!
I didn't really see a natural place to put the fleur de lis other than possibly the gator's hat.
