This is the first year starting for Jordan Love. They would have no interest in Lock. And whatever you think of Kyler Murray, zero chance Drew Lock starts over him. It's not even in the realm of possibilities.

Probably higher than that. But have 0% chance at getting to the super bowl.

Seattle’s pathway to the Super Bowl involves someone else beating the 49ers and the Rams in the playoffs. I think they could very much beat Detroit and Philadelphia (who they beat in the regular season) and Dallas (to whom they lost in a barn-burner in part due to the crappy play of a guy who just got IRed today).

Detroit, sure. As much as I dislike the Eagles and rejoiced when they were defeated by the Seahawks, I wasn't fooled. The Seahawks were lucky to win that game, and it was at home. They'll be at minimum a 7 point dog in the playoffs at Philly.

Seahawks need to win next week and the winner of Vikings packers to lose next week to make the playoffs.

Mariners trade Robbie Ray for Mitch Haniger. A bit of a surprise, but the Ms probably don’t want to be on the hook for his salary when they don’t know if he will be ok post injury. So I guess I am ok with it.

To me, more to the point, the rotation sure didn’t seem like it needed Ray last year and they do need corner OF help. Hopefully meetch can come back and be healthy and who he used to be.

Honestly I’m much sadder they traded Cabby away. I can see that Raley should be better, even given that Caballero was an infielder, but I like guys who get on base.

Seahawks have removed Pete Carroll as head coach. He's taking a front office position.

He is getting older.I wonder if the Seahawks are hoping for Billicek. Or maybe WSUs Jake Dickert or UWs DeBoer.

Belichick is only six months or so younger than Carroll.

Really sad to see him go but I guess in fairness he's a defensive-minded coach and the D has just been awful the past couple years. This year I think it looked like it was starting to turn around at the end and then it played arguably its two worst games of the season in Weeks 17 and 18. What do you do with that?

Here's hoping the team takes the "risk" (read: barely a risk) and goes after Eric Bienemy.

I'm not sure why the Seahawks hired someone that has never been a head coach before.

I'm not sure if the Mariners strategy of getting a bunch of smaller pieces instead of one or two big pieces is a good thing or a bad thing. I guess we'll find out. Will be interesting to see how Jorge Polonco hits in and if he has a rebound year in the pitcher friendly t-mobile park.

Because he's a smart guy and the main alternative - Dan Quinn - was all kinds of underwhelming?

Why not take a chance? If he doesn't work out then the team goes through the rebuilding cycle they'd been avoiding during PC's tenure. If he does, they've got a potential defensive Sean McVay. Speaking of, the Ravens' D did a number on the Rams last year (also Seattle's but um let's not talk about that).

I was personally hoping for an offensive minded guy but when Johnson decided to stay in Detroit and Bobby Slowik apparently biffed his interview, this was clearly the best choice of the guys available (and, I'd argue, the best choice of anyone period and yes I am aware of the existence of SLIMEBALL Harbaugh).

Polanco was still pretty good last year; he just got hurt for half the season. That's a potential issue heading forward - availability being the best ability - but I don't think he needs a "rebound season" to provide production for the M's. I think the overall move from "who knows lol" and Geno to Polanco and Urias at 2nd and 3rd is probably mostly lateral, at least compared to last season, but a. I think a lot of Suarez's perceived value was due to a really good year in the field he's not going to reproduce, and b. Urias should be the actual guy who bounces back and, now at least, if he doesn't the team has a couple guys behind him who could conceivably step up.

I like this move a lot more than Kolten Wong last year and I thought Kolten Wong at the time wasn't too terrible.

I think for the Mariners to win the division)or get in the playoffs because usually the AL East get two playoff spots) we need JRod to not have a cold start and for Gilbert and/or Kirby to have an ace calibur year.

Spring Training starts! This is a pretty unique situation for the Mariners where there is a lot expected, but there also seems to be a lot of cynicsym(because of management being unwilling to gamble on big players, and them being a tough division). I think they have probably the top young pitching staff in baseball(as well as good young hitters in Jrod and Raleigh), but question marks surrounding the offense could mean they could win the division or finish below .500.

This year's team will only go as far as their health. If the new players they added (including Haniger) are healthy they will compete for the division, if not then they could lose 90 games. Management acquired some interesting and talented players but they do have a recent history of missing too much of the season, so we will see and hold our breath...GO Ms!

I wonder if the Kraken are going to be buyers or sellers this year. Even though they are technically still in the playoff race, they are 6-0-11 in OT games this year. That doesn't exactly scream effort and I wouldn't blame them if they sell some older or high salary guys.
