I found OOTP15 after I gave up on the Football Manager franchise. I can't tell you how much better a simulator OOTP is over FM. I know a few things are different but Markus has made such a great game. SI should learn a thing or two. Plus Markus and the OOTP dev's actually listen to what people want in their game.

I'm pretty sure the first one I tried was 3, I wanted to try to use it to manage rosters for High Heat Baseball...

OOTP8. I got it after being disappointed with Baseball Mogul 2009. I was hooked instantly. OOTP was everything BM wasn't. I've bought every version since. Love this game!

I sure as heck hope so, buddy! I’m not a fan of Bergevin at all, so I don’t have much confidence it will be any time soon unfortunately. But we can always hope so! We certainly deserve to see another one!

You went to the future in 2003?
OOTP4 for me in 2002. The great Angels-Giants WS got me to look for the best baseball game at the time and that search lead me to OOTP. At the time I was disappointed I hadn't looked for it earlier, but 4 was so good maybe I wouldn't have gotten hooked on an earlier version.

The first ones I tried were 14 & 15 I believe, though I found them quite difficult to get into and figure out. It was the UI & 3D improvements in OOTP 19 that really pulled me in
Bought that in late summer ahead of Perfect Team being introduced, which helped a lot with getting a proper handle on the different elements of OOTP.The background to all that is growing up with the Championship-then-Football Manager series, and starting to watch baseball in the early 2010s Interestingly it is now FM that lacks the bigger features for me, which is the ability to create & customise leagues easily, and of course the historical databases

Two. And I still have the same league going that I manually imported from Earl Weaver II to run on OOTP2.

13 was technically my first, but I didn't play it very much. I skipped a few versions, bought 16 and have been hooked ever since.

The very first one and I have purchased every single version released. It has the great combination of sim speed and depth that no other game has these days.

I want a GM simulation...and not a “what if” simulator...which is what OOTP is turning into. I started with the very first edition...so I have seen a lot of changes.
To me, the crux of the sim needs to be accurate roster and financial rules for all leagues...and there doesn’t seem to be much work going into that. I don’t care about historical play, or 3D.. Nor do I care about Perfect Team or collecting baseball cards. All I have ever wanted is a game the literally makes you feel as though you are sitting in the GM chair. OOTP is a great game, and obviously I love it!! I guess I just thought a lot of the stuff that provides “personality” and really focuses on the GM side of things would be here by now. My first was Season Ticket Baseball, so I don't know which version that was. My first officially numbered OOTP was 8.
