That is just totally wrong, what a waste of money, if that the best "simulation" this software can do, I think I am done with buying any more versions.
hahahahahahaha

For shame.

Just don't touch Stanley's cup.

Yeah, not arguing at all with your assessment. I get your reasoning and understand why it takes away the "game isn't realistic" reaction that some players have. There is certainly nothing wrong with playing a fictional world to avoid expectations that may come with real players. To each their own.

It's just never been an issue in my mind. In Strat O Matic I have expectations because the player card is setup to produce certain stats\performance. In OOTP I don't have those expectations because the "card" or in OOTP terms "ratings" are alive and change over time. The fact the ratings are "alive" and a player like Verlander can tank one game or fall off the earth, ala Dantrelle Willis, is what makes OOTP the best baseball simulation in the world, IMHO. So, the thing the original poster complains about that makes OOTP unrealistic is in fact what makes OOTP realistic. Go figure

Front Page Sports Baseball Pro or maybe even Earl Weaver would make him happy.

Let's not miss the point here. What makes him and others like him happy is seeing numerous replies and reactions to their post, if they return to see it at all, that is. It's an arm's length internet cousin to the "Hey, y'all. Watch this."

Exactly. I'm fairly new to the board but not the game, I notice how every time some troll posts, people respond. What's the point? Obviously its either some idiot who doesn't understand concepts like sample size to even enjoy the game or just someone out to get someone's reaction to their blatant trolling.

If he's just an idiot then there's no helping him, but he may simply just be ignorant, in which case I helpfully posted some links to further his education.

I read the one on Evaluating Pitcher Talent and added FIP to my custom Pitchers View, which is really nice now that it doesn't revert to the default view when I switch screens.

I forget who is the guy here with the sig that quotes something like the OP and says 'He is THAT guy. Don't be THAT guy.'

I also hope the OP was being humourous...
