"How Nike's Obsession with Storytelling Ruined the NFL Uniforms".

If you ever wanted to hear corporate press releases with lots of bull**** about bad designs, you're in luck!

(Also, the praise for the Titans' "throwback" Oilers jerseys avoids the "they're just doing it to spit in Houston's face, the assholes" issue. A bit surfacey if you're not going to cover that aspect, IMO.)

Ranking 5 coaches on hot seat heading into 2025 season

5. Brian Callahan (Tennessee Titans)
Career record: 3-14 (one season)

4. Shane Steichen (Indianapolis Colts)
Career record: 17-17 (two seasons)

3. Brian Daboll (New York Giants)
Career record: 18-32-1 (three seasons)

2. Zac Taylor (Cincinnati Bengals)
Career record: 46-52-1 (six seasons)

1. Mike Tomlin (Pittsburgh Steelers)
Career record: 183-107-2 (18 seasons)

Eyebrows raised over that last/first one? This alone raised my brows:

"The Steelers have only had three(!) head coaches since 1969: Chuck Noll, Bill Cowher and Mike Tomlin. All three have won Super Bowl titles and are franchise legends."

But not having won a playoff game in eight seasons is apparently wearing out patience. This despite the fact that "He's won 10-plus games in 11 of his 18 seasons -- including each of the last two seasons -- and has been to the playoffs in four of the past five years."

The way things are in professional sports these days, it would not surprise me.

Couldn't sit thru the whole thing so had to skip it. I found the narrator bland and the topic uninteresting. But I think he is crying about nothing.

1. They are in the business of selling. You can't sell if people aren't interested. There's a portion of the public that will buy the jerseys just to be up to date. There is a portion who will buy just because of the team and no other reason. And there are those who find those minor touches interesting. That is the group they are aiming for.

2. The designers are looking for inspiration. Those minor details are what they live for.

Tomlin on the hotseat does surprise me. It's the GMs job to provide the coach with the players. No coach that ever lived would win a SB with Mason Rudolph at QB.

I watched just over half of it and bailed out. Why? For the same reasons you've mentioned.

But in this particular case, Lawrence really hasn't showed a hell of a lot yet. Besides that, when the interceptions come, and how bad they are matters. A stat just shows that you have them.

Let's complete those stats, shall we?

Number of Times Tackled by the Turf during what should have been an 88-yard TD Run:

Lawrence: 0
Danny Derps: 1 too many.

I think both have been victims of terrible coaching.

Sure, but he's also been given Kenny Pickett, Mitchell Trubisky, Justin Fields, and a just-barely-past-his-prime Russell Wilson to work with!

A lot of the griping from the fans comes from the notion that he's been taking teams that really should be finishing with 6ish wins and coaching them up to 9 every season, and so they aren't getting the draft capital they "should". Personally I think that's horrible reasoning and there's no guarantee whatsoever that they just stick into 5-12 hell for a season or two if they do a regime change, but that's where Steelers fans are right now and the FO sure isn't helping things by putting all of their QB eggs into the Aaron Rodgers basket this year (which, at best he's a 1 year solution. Why not just keep Russ or Justin Fields?).

The QB situation there has been a complete mess since really they kept Rofflesberger for around 3 years too long and at some point I guess that does have to point back to Tomlin even though he's primarily a defense guy (like, so is Pete Carroll, and... he managed to find Geno Smith after Russ demanded to be traded, and he also got canned after coaching 6 win teams up to 9 wins season after season so it's not a great comparison if you're a Tomlin fan).

If the Steelers do play up again and they still can Tomlin, I think he could very, very easily go to a new team and still be a really good HC.

Can someone explain this to me? It must be legal, or else I'm sure they would have thrown a flag on the Chiefs. Go to the 4 minute mark.
