reminder to all: do another OL search and double check the friends list to make sure you have everyone needed. Also check your PT settings and make sure you are set to "use friends list" and not "random" for your placement.

My guys didn't show up for the playoffs again, smh. They even lost a game without allowing any earned runs. I'm not sure I've ever seen that before. Congratulations.

Jackson Wood Ducks, Hacuna Matata - did not put the -ol extension
Nowhere Men - lanlachimoe - did not come up in user name search at all
Canby Boxers - fan 3 - search for this user name came up with Reykjavik Volcanoes, without -ol extesnion

yeah, checked in after game 1 and noticed that.... only 2 runs the Syrups get come thanks to a costly error....

I fully expect to get trounced by the wild card team that took out the top seed....

assume Jackson dropped the OL tag recently, as I have them friended and I only tagged OL teams in my initial run through. Dropping from my list for now until they confirm they are in the league and update with the OL tag accordingly... also removing from online sheet

Nowhere might not be created yet, so going to give them more time.

removing Canby from online sheet.... would be nice if people would advise they have decided not to join after signing up, if they had second thoughts or have joined somewhere else; but guess you can't expect common courtesy these days

Fort Davis Waves with a strong season and will advance to Bronze to begin OL play. The Waves have no Perfects, but are led by Joey Votto (97PVR).

Bordeaux Zoologists are in the Rookie playoffs and will advance to Stone for next year. The Zoologists top card is a 99PVR George Foster.

The Belo Horizonte Peasants move into Rookie ball next year, led by Perfect Walter Johnson. Though Big Train will earn PP's for the Peasants, he will eventually be sold to bolster a very weak-hitting lineup.

I show 33 teams on the online sheet, and a manager/team search using: -OL|- OL| -OL| - OL returns 33 teams, so those sync up.... minus your own team (obviously don't need to friend yourself), leaves us with 32 teams.... can only friend 30 total, so just leave out 2 teams that are more than one tier above/below and should be good

2 weeks of being the best team in my league, 2 weeks of being knocked out by far inferior teams. Variance can take a bite out of my shiny not metal arse.

RNG's always against me. Never with me. If this is what I have to look forward to, then I ain't gonna make it through the summer.

Waffletown (98-64) take down the second best team in the league (114-48), since the top team went down in the LDS; for their first World Series win of V23.

Kudos goes to Clayton Kershaw for a top notch season (22-7, 287.2 IP; 323 K; 4-0 in the post season)

Spiked a few consolation prizes in packs tonight...

92 LE Tommy John
100 Brandon Crawford

Crawford probably does not play in this team since Sewell IMO is better all around vs R and Pesky is better all around vs L, but Tommy John gives me an extreme GB pitcher in the rotation. The kind of pitcher I like to have.

EDIT: Crawford has been sold for 60k. I can complete the rest of the Live 20's.

EDIT #2: Add 100 Willie Randolph to the list of consolation prizes!

Very excited! Here's the Athletics roster for the first season of proper OL play. I haven't had too much time to focus on Perfect Team this week. I really need to sort out my tournament teams so I can get some extra packs coming in but the few packs I have opened have been pretty lucky this past week. I managed to pull a 99 Mike Piazza, 90 Hooks Dauss, 89 Preacher Roe, and a 86 John Denny -- plus a 95 Pedro Martinez from completing the Washington Nationals live mission.

The Athletics will be staying in Silver however after they went 79-83. I thought we might surge to a playoff run after I added Piazza and we went 18-9 in August but they came back down to earth.

We had one more OL team in my league this season: the North Bay Blizzard. The Athletics got the series sweep for their first meeting (revenge, for beating us in the Bronze playoffs last season) in May but the Blizzard struck back in July with a 2-1 series win.

My hitting MVP this season goes to 1B Mickey Vernon. He went .332/.398/.543 with 18 home runs and 27 stolen bases to take out the batting title. Scott Kazmir is my pitching MVP, despite the fact that he lead the league in walks.

Looks like the 4 Gold Teams missed this week in OL. 3 of us are in Gold .303 and 1 is in Gold .308

It does, however, look like all the lower levels qualified.

2024 tier breakdown:

100% coverage with no missed teams is a rare thing..... and this inaugural V23 OL season is no exception

Rookie - 3 teams (all three in different leagues)
Stone - 7 teams (6 in one league, one in another: Card Era Craze)
Iron - 7 teams (6 in one league, one in another: Brooklyn Dynasty)
Bronze - 7 teams (6 in one league, one in another: Detroit Spirits)
Silver - 5 teams (all together, huzzah!)
Gold - 4 teams (3 in one league, one in another: Waxhaw Wayvern)

I'll cover Silver tier this season. Aomori, Auckland, and North Bay all in the AC West, so should get a good run of games there. Waffletown in the AC East, and Los Angeles in the NC East.

Hoping the interleague connection is NC East - AC West to Los Angeles gets enough on the schedule for the 10 OL game target

No idea what happened with Brooklyn. I added all the teams that needed to be added on their end, and still it didn't work out. The only thing might be that I may not have changed it to use friends list. Might not have caught that because of the beating my allergies are giving me.

Bronze and Stone. (Belo Horizonte made the rookie mistake of leaving league assignments on "Random" and will randomly be alone in Rookie as a result)

Bronze full standings...Stone half standings, since OL teams ended up in only half the league
