I was just playing a game in OOTP21 and it was a really exciting game. But at the last strikeout the umpire just said "strike three." It sounded like "strikethree," but so matter of fact, so without feeling.
I do those calls myself

If you look in the mod forum there are mods that add things like this along with beer vendors, hecklers, etc. Adds a ton of atmosphere to the game IMHO.

Thank you! I didn't think about that.

Will there be an option to retain the traditional minor league structure?

Will OOTP22 be able to handle a 70 team(2 conference ) playoff with 58 teams getting first round bye while the other 12 play to produce 6 winners eventually getting to 64 teams and playing like NCAA basketball playoffs till there is a champion?

In the past I have had to play this type of playoff manually.

God bless you for running that! I am guessing you are doing a best of like an NCAA with historical teams?

Plus, there a couple of technical difficulties in accessing a beta for the pre-order bonus...
Can I use the license key from my pre order to redeem a copy of the game through steam, or will I have to use a different platform?

Does anyone know if you will be able to import leagues from earlier versions of OOTP directly into OOTP22? For example, from OOTP14? I know that normally there is no problem when you import from the previous version to the new version. I mostly play OOTP14, but also have 18 and 21. Over the years I have downloaded demos of the other versions, but those demos expired and I deleted them.

If I cannot import directly from OOTP14 to 21 and 22, is it still possible to re-download the demos for 15 through 17, and then 19-20, and get another timer for those demos, so I can move my leagues through each version in order?

My guess is you won't be able to import from 14 to 22.

Here is a link to older versions though.

I thought in one of the recent iterations there were some changes to support playoff setups of that size. Does this not work in 21 already, and what error are you seeing?

If you have pre-ordered, you will only be able to access the stand-alone versions. You may add the game to your steam library if you want to launch it through there, but it would not gain any of the steam "features" (auto-updating, steam achievements, etc...).

You cannot import through the whole process, only from the previous version. However, I believe that for nearly all demo versions, the "import from previous version" should not be timer-locked and should be available to run the process of importing through. So I don't believe that should be an issue. If there's any troubles with some of them, often either someone on the boards or support can help with as well if need be.

Yes. I just imported my Cooperstown, Negro and Nippon league greats from 14 to 21.

Did you have to go through the progression:14 to 15, 15-16 etc to get from 14 to 21 ?

A 64-bit system can access 264 memory addresses, i.e actually 18-Quintillion bytes of RAM. In short, any amount of memory greater than 4 GB can be easily handled by it.”

Should allow for bigger saves and quicker simulating and saving in those games.
to further this point, more memory availability means less disk access. Memory is much faster than disk. So yes, simming and advancing days will be much faster comparing apples to apples. With the additional memory space available theoretically one should be able to run much larger worlds with multiple leagues and what not and not see a significant drop in sim speed

Yes it has always been necessary to migrate saves sequentially through the versions.

Honestly I'm kind of surprised no one has come up with a db conversion tool yet

Thanks you for the response ! I am only going from 19 -22, so not a big migration. Do I just keep selecting the import from prior season button for each version after it is loaded in that newer version ?

Thank you for the help. I wanted to make sure I didn't have to do something in game prior to moving on to the next version. Thanks again !
