I have nothing constructive to add other than the user names above me remind me of Wilco and Sonic Youth, 2 tremendous bands.

I'm just discovering Wilco. I've been listening to the Old 97's on Pandora and Wilco and another band called Son Volt get played a lot. Great stuff.

Wilco and Son Volt both came out of the breakup of a band called Uncle Tupelo...in case you want to go down the rabbit hole even further.

Uncle Tupelo another great band. Wilco one of the best live bands I have seen. Up there with the Counting Crows, as in "Rain King", a great tune. Unfortunately I have never been able to play OOTP with music in the background.

Highlights of Feedback / Fixes Needed
Just trying to get my experience out there:
After playing for a while, I'm noticing the same trends coming up that haven't necessarily been addressed from what I've seen: -Pitching within simulation as a Manager is tremendously broken, no matter the settings or attributes of the player. I find myself having a great game, fair pitch count and then suddenly I'll lose by the exact number of runs needed for the other team to get to comeback and then win. It doesn't matter who I put out there, whether top tier starter or reliever, the same frequency of bad simulation happens. For context, I play with the Cubs and Mariners on many different years of historical seasons, even did a few current year for 25. It doesn't add any realism to the game and I believe the one edge that was good with MLB The Show was the simulation during Manage Mode. -No matter the better attributes for base running versus fielding against the other team, when asked if you'd like to advance the runner home, you always lose this decision. How is that possible? -Trying to steal manually is a stutter on consecutive tries. Many times I believe that can alter the course of the at-bat when you try a few opportunities and the player doesn't even decide to go for it. -Hitting the SIM to RISP button can break the game badly. You'll end up losing more times than winning doing this route, just to speed up games. -Can we have 3D graphics that match the actual event happening on the field? I can be safe with animation at home plate but called out. Also for passed ball and wild pitch it takes a while to wait for the catcher to get back to home plate. -You can tell the season settings that you don't want to vote for All Stars and HOF but it still slows down your season and off-season when the menu still requests it. Can we have that removed if the option is chosen? Lots of mechanical errors are holding this game back from having pure simulations, which I don't want to match the real seasons, but I'd like a chance at least with pitching to be able to hold leads and win games. I feel if the stamina is normal, it should match what could be expected for an MLB outcome. I do like this game and look forward to things tidying up a bit. Hope this helps someone else. |

Feedback on PT
Hello Devs,
First off, thanks for making a great game and taking the time to keep modes like Perfect Team different and fun. As someone who has played a *cough* few hundred hours of PT, I do have some feedback for OOTP 27. 1. Make chemistry mean something or just get rid of it. I have had many really high chemistry teams (specifically in the live PDs) just get swept out of the first round. I also have tracked chemistry vs wins in my PT leagues and haven't really seen any positive correlation between high chemistry and team success. I know this would be a pain in the butt, but it would be good to see real-life relationships also add to chemistry. Example: The Molina brothers have no chemistry with each other. 2. Please make it so every notification you get doesn't erase essentially what you are doing. I will say the biggest annoyance is when you are going through and selecting multiple players under card management, and you get a notification that a card sold for 20pp, it removes all the selections and you have to go through and select them again. 3. Make standard packs have some value, or make them harder to get. It seems as when you all updated all the PT tournaments and PD's to award packs, that standard packs no longer ever contained anything beyond the occasional gold. Example: I just opened 19 standard packs and got 1 gold live card. I have opened hundreds of standard packs since that change and have had similar outcomes. On top of that, it seems like 90% of the silvers I get are live cards as well. As far as getting perfects in non-perfect packs, it seems like you get the same cards every time. Example: The last 3 historic perfects I have gotten have been Luke Appling. The odds of that happening, if everything is random, are 7,880,599 to 1 based on my quick math. 4. Please make it so the card shop and variant shop work the same if you are viewing a tournament. Example: If you are building a tournament roster and want to see if a variant card is available and add it to your wishlist, or bid on it, you have to close out of building that roster and go to your league team, then the variant marketplace to do so. 5. Please make it so the back button can go back to whatever view, so if I want to go back to the tournament list, I don't have to go back to the main screen just to do so. Please comment if you would like any additional info or clarification on what I meant and I will be happy to provide it. Last edited by roushac; 10-26-2025 at 08:23 AM. Reason: Add info |

Draft players never develop into what their potential was when they got drafted. Its once every 5 years a player even becomes a starter much less a all-star player

I don't see any evidence of this in my games? Are you scouting properly, are you comparing against OSA, and noting any variancees, are you looking for clues in the data that might indicate the prospect isn't all they initially promise. Are you investing and changing your scouting budget allocations,e.g. focus on amateurs/minor during season and set scouting tasks to align. and then later in season switch to preparing for international free agent scouting.. What kind of scout do you use - one who favours tools/ability/neutral? Do you consider their inherent potential biases in your assessment? What are your expectations? Are you using all of the information about a player including their personality traits to inform your decisions. How are you then developing players. Are you managing their development carefully, using player notes to mark any slider allocation decisions you've made, and what KPI's you want to see as a result of your development program (eg improved strikeouts, less BB, etc) and then monitor and promote based on cyclical programs throughout the year. Its just too simplistic to say players aren't developing. I used to lament this too, until I finally stopped looking for a one and done solution or a sure fire setting to ensure all my players develop as planned. just like in real life there are loads of variables and you're probably going to whiff on more than you nail when it comes to drafting and developing. |

As the above person mentioned there is a lot that goes into it. Adjusting the development sliders, budget, coaches, your scout. I would venture to guess it mirrors real life in some respects, go look at the first round on a yearly basis and you will probably find 2-5 good players, a few decent ones and a few AAAA guys. |
