a new release players bug.... test this one!

When importing a team and performing the releases, the amount the team is charged in the player expenses is coming up wrong.

In several tests this is what we did:

made a test file with a league

releases a player and exported, wrote down the amount the team had in players expenses so far.

deleted the test file and made a fresh one

imported the team that made the cut

checked the amount on players expenses so far, it was wrong.

I think the game is charging more for imported releases than it is supposed to! This isn't isolated to one computer either, this was tested by a few people.

Is it possibly charging double? Once on the owner's PC and once on the commish PC?

nay, some figures are not double, and yet, some are! one example I just did was this:

Initial players expenses - 30,782,324
player released - 2,188,086
Total - 32,970,410

Redo file and import:

New players expenses - 33,208,907

not double at all, but close.

Holy Moley............the further we go the more bugs discovered...........this needs to be investigated and fixed quickly.........how disappointing/frustrating this all is.

The creditability of the OOTP5 game is suspect!

I would suggest that leagues just disable this function. That will take care of the problems.

What is the purpose of adding functions to the game if they are discovered to be buggy and say just don't use them.........that is bull crap. Fix the dam problems as quickly as possible and quit making excuses!. I am so mad over this fiasco.

yep, just disabled it, back to manual releases! It was a valiant effort on this feature, even though it was really not neccassary.

^don't complain guys, it was an extra feature, you lost nothing^

Most probably know this already as I imagine it was fixed awhile ago, but I retested this with 6.11 and the game asked whether I wanted to release the players. Nice to know.

Test Method:

-get to draft
-copy lg
-export
-copy export to copy lg
-open copy lg
-finish draft
-import
-game asked whether to release players

Was this the only known problem with importing regular exports during the pre-season?

EDIT2: I tested the bug in this thread too and it also appears to be fixed.

-import player from another league using Pierre's utility
-check expenses 36,598,032 & salary of player 3.248M
-copy lg
-release +2,726,716 (signed part way thru season) = 39,324,748
-check math correct
-export
-copy export to copy lg
-open copy lg
-check expenses 36,598,032
-import
-check expenses 39,324,748
