I have tried to use the editor but the changes to the AS teams don't seem to take. I run it on the day before the game, save it, then sim that off day. The computer still picks its own team.
What am I doing wrong? |

Well if running the Editor the day before doesn't work then maybe you should try running it on the day OF the All Star Game!
lol btw...the computer picks will still show up in the League News, etc so if you want those gone you have to manually delete them. Enjoy! |

When I've changed just the batters and none of the pitchers, it works fine, simming and playing. When I change even 1 pitcher, regardless of same role or handedness or not, it crashes when it tries to make the pitching substitution to the pitcher I replaced. I've tried a number of options of which pitcher to replace with which pitcher, but none have worked. I've even just switched MR for MR, it still crashes, though later, presumably when it's gone through the SPs and looking to for the MR I replaced. I'm also using version 1.01. It may be some aspect of our league like 1 DH, 1 not, I don't know. To isolate the problem further, perhaps looking at our league in depth might help. The link is in my sig.

Maybe if you try to clean all players first and than add them back. I have no other idea. Is the system giving you an error message? |

dola..
after clicking on the link in that popup I get the below popup. When I click the first link I get another popup with scrollable text that I cannot copy and goes far past what I could screen capture. Easiest way to see it is to use our current league file.

And if you simulate the game, I guess that everything is working fine? Do you think it is the same problem as when the lineup is not complete for a team in a normal game? |

If I simulate inning by inning or by pressing continue, it will crash when the team that goes for a pitching change looks for a player that has been replaced with the editor. If I "play" (only substitutions human controlled) out the entire game it does work though! (Thanks for helping me figure this out as a possible option to give to Chris.) Quote:

UPDATE:
I got it to work with a few adjustments. Below is part of my email to Chris: Quote:
And PLG, thank you so much for first, making this utility, and second, helping us work out our issues. You rock!

-open up star.exe -click option|preferences -use the browse (...) button to find your league's folder (e.g. E:\Program Files\400 Software Studios\OOTP5\CBL.lg) -press save and then close -click file|open and then ok -select 1 of the all-star teams from the right drop down menu -click on a player and drag him to the left column (this will remove that player) -do this for every player (it's quickest this way, trust me) -do this for the other all-star team -select a team from the left drop down menu -select the corresponding all-star team -click on a player from the left column and drag to the right -repeat for each all-star player -click file|save -click file|exit -open ootp and run your ASG -set both teams to human controlled substitutions and "play" out the entire game by pressing continue and making substitutions where fit Perhaps something like this (you can use all or part of this if you want) could be added to the utility's zip. EDIT: Added that last step as it does not seem to work without it.

I've never used this particular utility of Pierre's before, but I might have reason to do so soon. Does anyone know if it works with OOTP6?
