It's already hard to be a Yankee fan when the team is made up of AL All-Stars.

There's almost no connection to this team anymore.

Pedro will still start game 1 on Saturday. Today would have been his normal throw day, that's why they said he was available before the game. He probably threw as many pitches as he normally would, and will be in fine shape to pitch on Saturday, barring any major collapses in the 9th.

Agreed... love the fact that they try to be competitive every year, but they've started to get players for the sake of getting them and not to build into a team. Unfortunately (and it really pains me to say this), the Sox have become like the Yankee teams of the 90's... built to be a "team"

The Yanks have also fleeced their minor league system in the last couple of years something that led to part of their troubles this year.

Wouldn't you too?

I'm sure that if they asked the Yankees to stop trying to score, then they (the Red Sox) would as well.

Until that happens? Tough...swing away.

Beltran will be seeking 10 years and probably around $200 million. I'm hoping he doesn't want that much, or maybe the Cubs could take a run at him if they can find someone stupid, I mean, someone smart enough to take Sammy off their hands.

Those Sox fans they keep showing in the crowd have some serious balls. I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say those people are in mortal danger with the mood those Stankies fans are in...

If I was a Sox fan in Yankke stadium I think I would quietly sneak away...

They said earlier today on ESPN Radio that the Cubs and Yankees were the frontrunners for Beltran and that the Astros were trying to get the financial backing from investors to persue re-signing him in the offseason.
