What do you look for in joining a league?

The commish?

The web site?

The forums?

The team?

OOTP version?

The GMs?

Or what?

Personally I like to join leagues with respected commish's where i know at least 1 person, to give me the inside scoop on things... I also prefer leagues where the commish is not a dominate team, but that is not the biggest priority... I prefer historical (ok prefer is not a strong enough word). I also prefer no name changes, player changes, city changes, stadium upgrades, etc, but for the right league i over look these... And last, but certainly not least, I like leagues with alot of trading and GM activity...

It changes but right now for me the order is:

OOTP version

Rules

Commish (is it one guy or multiple..dislike one guy running it all)

Website

After that I dont really care. There are always GMs you like and dislike in every league for the most part.

Rules
Commish
Fun owners
I dont really care about the website

The main things I look at is the reputation of the league, the type of league it is, who the owners are in the league and who's running it. Not necessarily in that order all the time, but those are the four main and most important things to me.

Some previous threads on the same topic:

It usually sounds as if type of league (fictional or real) and commish rep are the most important.

Mine has changed slightly from my prior list. Here is my order of importance now:In order of preference:

1) Reputation of the league and commish
2) Rules and setup for the league
3) Website
4) Owners
5) Forum
6) The team

We do a 4-3-4-3 every even (2nd, 4th, 6th ect.) day in the CLB, And it is quite fun. You get to know the teams and get a better sense of control if you like to tinker with your lineup.

So while i am not activly looking for a league if I find one with a similar feel I will jump on it.

yeah, I've been considering starting a league at some point, and have begun drafting up some stuff, and I like that idea. Not sure about the every other day, but I was thinking 5-5-5 for sims. That covers a DL stint in three sims and just 15 days.

Thanks for the idea.

If you're truly interested in a change of pace, check out the MBLS

One sim per day, one day per sim...

I like the Idea, but you gauys are using OOTP5 and i just cleared that thing from my harddrive and have no desire to put it back on.

I love the concept.

Well, go ahead and submit an owner application and Joe will contact you when we move to OOTP6. The conversations about when that will happen are still taking place, but it will probably be this offseason...

Later,
jamey

For those who say rules and/or setup, is there anything in particular that you look for?
