The display issue wasn't. I don't know about the crazy editing thing - I haven't tested it.

obaslg,
I played around with the editor post-patch, and the edited numbers for some players are still appearing differently (input a 50 and 51 appears). After further relection, I don't think it's a bug. What I think is an issue (at least in my case) is that my OOTP5 league file was imported from OOTP4, which was imported from OOTP3, which was imported from OOTP2. If I remember correctly, if you made a change to a players rating in a given category, then the talent would increase (or decrease) correspondingly (if the rating change was significant). In 4 and 5, any change to a players rating did not impact a players talent. For example, if a player had a talent rating of POOR in HR's, but you edited his current HR rating to, say, 60, his HR talent would remain the same. If you did that in version 2 or 3, then the player's HR talent rating would increase to BRILLIANT. In my case, the weirdness in the numbers seems to be tied to the ratings/talent changes of version 2 and 3. That is, if I try to change a players talent, then his current also changes (and vice versa). Since my original league file was created in version 2 (and subsequent changes have been made in each successive version), I think that is part of what is causing the weird results I get (plus I also think my league file is a bit corrupted - I once ran one of Pierre's early utilities in version 3 that I shouldn't have). I tested the editor by creating a players in version 6 and the editor seems to work fine - I can easily edit either current or talent ratings manually (or CSV import) with no weird results. Lesson - If you've imported an OOTP5 into version 6, but your OOTP5 league was an import of an earlier version (2 through 4), then I think it's best to not edit the player rating/talents in version 6. A way around this (but VERY time consuming) - import your league into version 6 and record all the pertinent information for a player (ratings/talents/position/age/contract, etc) as identified in version 6. Now delete this player. Once deleted, add a new player and edit this new player using the previously deleted players' information. This (I think - have not tested it yet) will allow you to edit the players ratings/talents without getting weird rating/talent output. Another way similar to the above would be to save all pertinent information for every player after one has imported your league into version 6. Then save all of this information (CSV files, write down). Then created a brand new league and edit the players to be the same as those of your previously imported league. Again, time consuming. |

I just tested it again. This was a fictional league created with OOTP6 with no scouts and full displays. I opened a pitcher and edited all his pitching ratings AND talents to 150. As I was doing this, I noticed that his OVERALL ratings were not changing to all 150s, but were changing to 156/99/100.
I closed the editor and player and then opened the player again. Without the editor, his ratings were showing 100/99/100 overall and both ways. With the editor, they show as 156/99/100 overall and both ways. Talents showed as 100s without the editor and 150 with it. In short, this was all the same as before the patch.

How about a guy being too low?
Well I got a chance to import the WLB into v6 and young Byvok doesn't fair well rating wise. Here's he is in v5: http://www.wlb.ootp-leagues.com/Reports/p540.html And here in v6: http://www.wlb.ootp-leagues.com/reportsv6/p540.html The most glaring rating is the low control rating of 13! Now while I know in v5 his hit and runs ratings were low (3 and 4), he did have a high Ks rating (9) and decent HR and BB ratings (7 and 6). I guess I would have figured a control value around the 50-60 range. Oh well, so much for a good pitcher. Has anyone else seen a player get knocked down like this?
