I was planning on making this a poll, but there's just too many choices!
What are your favourite new features in OOTP6? Personally, mine are all the new roster rules (2-5), closely followed by the DIPS engine (6). I'm sure the new roster rules will make a huge difference in the challenge, and as a result the enjoyment, of the game. I'm truly amazed Markus and company were able to get all these into the game. Sure, there might be some questions with some right now, but I'm sure they'll all get worked out. Great job guys! 1) Customizeable Ratings Scales 2) Customizeable Active Roster 3) 40 Man Roster / Rule 5 Draft 4) Correct MLB Service Time for Late Season Callups' Arbitration Eligibility 5) Waiver Wire 6) DIPS Engine 7) Player Evaluation Weightings 8) Player Creation Modifiers 9) Player Development Modifiers 10) More Detailed Amateur Draft 11) Stealing Tendencies in Era Settings 12) Improved Historical Imports 13) Defense More Finely Tuned 14) Better In-Game AI 15) Live Broadcast 16) Head to Head (in first patch) There might be more, but I got most of these from the newsletter: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/newsletters/nl0008/ If I missed one, post it.

Roster rules for me. I believe they will go a long way in adding to the challenge of the solo player. I think that once we learn the ins and outs of the dips engine it will end up being a very good thing. I felt that v5 was already giving my very good overall realistic stats and the dips engine will do the same but maybe in a more realistic fashion.

I think the in-game play has been improved tremendously. I'm playing out WAY more games than I did with 3, 4, or 5.
I also like the new roster rules. A lot. Its extrememly helpful in terms of getting acquainted with my minor leaguers. I'll tell you, with an import of CBL 1.3 rosters on my computer screen, and a copy of Baseball Prospectus 2004 in my lap, I've been having one hell of a day!

40 man roster for me. Then I would say the Rule 5 draft. The better AI is great, but I think the 40 man roster/Rule 5 draft add a whole new level of difficulty to this game

Being able to look at the list of (for example) second basemen in the league, and seeing EVERYONE who is rated as a second basemen - not just those who have it as their primary position.

One small feature I like that was added:
During broadcasts of other teams games, you can "pause" the sports ticker to leave it on one game (instead of cycling through!) Kinda neat if you want to keep an eye on division rivals while you play our your game! |

people people, i can't believe this isn't listed. my favorite feature is being able to see the splits on the lineups side so that i no longer have to go to the batting stats and sort, i can see right away in the Vs. LHP lineup that my #3 hitter is hitting .385 against lefties. Then when i go to Vs. RHP he's hitting only .280. Showing this to me and letting me then sort is one of my favorite parts of the new features. Also for those who aren't crazy about the new background graphic, here's a link to one i created, just unzip them into your Graphics folder. Make sure to back up the originals.

Something else I like (though I don't know if it came in in v5 or v6 since I made the jump to 6 straight from 4) is the fact that the main team screen gives you your ranking in team stats like team era etc. I'd still prefer to have a screen where you could sort team stats league by league (it's all well and good to know I'm last in team batting average, but the current setup doesn't make it so easy to find who's first...yes I know I can look at the league batting report in the news section, but I think it should be sortable) but it's a nice step. Wow, was that convoluted or what? |

For me, it is name capitalization (yay!), players being generated who can both pitch and hit, the amateur draft, and the player evaluation weights.

I'm having a blast playing the season with all ratings turned off. I can only evaluate a player from their performance and their scouting report.
It makes things a little more realistic for me. Before I used to go off the ratings too much. |

DIPS Engine is easily #1 ... the importance of H$ before drove me nuts. Then:
* 40 Man Roster / Rule 5 Draft * Corrrect MLB Service Time for Late Season Callups' Arbitration Eligibility * Player Evaluation Weightings * More Detailed Amateur Draft |
