All New OOTP Download Center
JoeRockEHF's OOTP Download Center Here is the all new OOTP Download Center! I think this is a vast improvement over my smaller Tripod site. Not all downloads are up yet but you can find just about anything you could need. If anyone knows how I can have the pic in my signature link to my website please let me know. Also, I'd like to have the downloads counted on my site to show how many times a file has been downloaded. I've tried various things but can never figure them out. Any help would be great. Any comments, advice, or tips about my site is very welcome. Hope you all enjoy! Joe

Very nice site. The only thing I would suggest would be to add a date next to the file so you can see when new stuff was added.

Nice job. Btw, feel free to add any of my other facepacks to the site. The sets from 1920's thru 70's are all in the OOTP4 section on BBSC. Link is in my sig.

Thanks Cuss. I seen those FacePacks Tiger Fan. Great work as usual. I'll be getting those up by this weekend if I get enough time.
Also, I still have some files to upload but if anyone has anything they would like me to post up or have a link to their website I can add in the Links section, let me know and I'll put it up. Thanks! Joe

ootp...????
Why does the game come without REAL players....and how difficult is it to download seasons...
(I only see 2003?..looking for past seasons..not available?) Also just what is Inside the Park Baseball...I don't get it ..is it a game...a future game..... Also if I download this game...will I then have to download patches...and how many..they seem to have about 4 patches...can I just download the last or most recent..will that cover it?.. Hope you can help... PS I bought the Boxing game I felt it was a bust... |

Real players would require a license, costing many dollars for Markus.
Downloading rosters is simple. You can play any season fictional, historical, current, whatever. The current game is up to the current patch so you just download the main game.

I was thinking about making a few changes to the website. One idea was to make it a PHP-Nuke site possibly. What do you guys think about that? Would it be better that way or like it is now?

Ok, I'm going to be messing with the site and I have no clue if it will go down or not. If it does come back up it may not be ready for downloads yet either. Bear with me and at the most it would just be for like two days or so.

Though I really like the overall look of your site, you might want to make the downloads a little easier to quickly scan (a slight decrease in the font size might help). You might want to look at other download sites for other ideas. SimCentral is a good example (http://files.simcentral.net/index/Ou...Park_5/Extras/) and so is OOTP Planet (http://www.ootplanet.com/downloads/p...category&id=10) or even www.download.com.
Some ideas are (the # at the beginning is what I would rank them out of 5, according to how important they would be to me personally): 5-the name of the utility (or whatever it is) 5-a short description of it (what does it do) 4-its creator's name and/or nick 3-when it was added or updated 1-perhaps a viewer rating 4-an editor (that would be you) rating and/or recommendation (creators might be upset if you don't recommend their utility, but viewers might really like to try out anything you think is worthwhile) 1-filesize (not important to me, but to some it is) 2-how many times it has been downloaded 5-what version of OOTP it works with (list multiple versions if applicable) And I'd probably put all that in a table like those other sites. Note that the things that would probably be most difficult to add (viewer rating, how many times it has been downloaded) are imo least important. I know I gave a lot of suggestions, but overall I do like it. You've got a good collection of up to date stuff and that's most important.

I guess im the opposite because i like the site the way it is.
I agree that the creator should be on there buit when its under logos you know its for logos, rosters for rosters. last date updated i agree with. I dont see ratings as being that important. I never pay attention to ratings. I want to try it out for myself. I would have missed out on many addons that i liked if i looked at ratings. Though it might cool to have one top ten rating by downloads and a viewer vote (good clean mod making competition might be good thing and fun) but i dont think its neccessary by each download. Which version yes i agree with that. But my overall impression is that i like it better than Baseball Sim Central. At Central i have to go to games then ootp then the versionwhile at download center i click on facepacksand bBoom im there. A quick view, i see the file size thats a lot of what i need to know right there. I agree with adding some things but not at the cost of cluttering it. |

EDIT: Thinking about it some more, perhaps my definition of a mod was too restrictive. When I think of a mod I think more of something like Team Fortress or Half-Life which takes the core of the original game (in those cases, Quake) and pretty much makes a whole new game. However, you don't really have to go that far. In fact, one could really call just switching the radio graphic a mod. If you've modified the game in any way then I guess it's technically a mod. Eh, whatever, nevermind me.

well as far as mods go you, Commish Joe and others know better as what to call it. Hell if you guys make them you can call them whatever you want.
I just lump everything into addons and then graphics would be logos and facepacks. I guess under facepacks would be assorted or rookies, or league, or team. Under that i would have them by year. But i thought with a quick view and the name of the Logo such as Old time MLB Logos 1905-1925 would help tell you what it is. I wasnt saying either site was better but that i just like the layout on download center better. I do agree that if you utility makers or mod makers feel they need to be separated more than yeah do it you would know the diffence better than i would, as long as he can keep the easy view it and download it set up. I dont want to and im sure you dont want to have to go through a bunch of clutter to get to the file you want. Last edited by BaseballMan; 01-07-2004 at 02:45 PM. |

Just as long as the name people call me can be said in front of children, I couldn't care less
![]() I like the design of this site. It'll be more work to keep up then a PhP Nuke site (especially if your host offers Fantastico, as you would be able to install Nuke with a click of a link). However, personally, I like the looks of a site designed by yourself, then by Nuke. It gives your site a personality of it's own.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I got a new design and also some other ideas that you guys said. I think it looks pretty good myself. I'll let you know when it's done.
In the meantime I will still be updating my site. Thanks! Joe
