I've decided to take my rankings of each time period, add them up and then figure out which is the best. I haven't done this until now so I'm not really sure how it will turn out. I also did all of my rankings above on each part of the data individually, not as a whole.
Rankings:
I used the entire conference rankings for the last 20 years, 10 years, and 5 years and then gave each place points, i.e. 1st place=6 pts, 2nd place=5 pts, etc. In order to break the tie between the Big Ten and the SEC I used the past 5 years, conference top 6 against conference top 6 rankings. I will for a final time point out sample size as I'm not sure any of the rankings over the last 5 years are really valid, but for the sake of arguement I have included them.

Well it looks like the Big Ten does quite well in all of those statistics. I slightly agree on the point with Pac-10 Big 10 thing about most games being at the Big 10 schools field, however I think it can pretty much be agreed by everyone that it is much more difficult to go out west then to come east. The top 6 schools data was exactly what I said I wanted in the last post and the results didn't really shock me. Maybe a bottom 3 vs bottom 3 stat would be helpful as well??

The ACC is better then I though, though, how many games out of conference do they generaly play each year vs decent teams (aka not Big East teams not named Miami, Va Tech or Pit)

Just couldn't resist to bump this thread back to the top. For all those Pac-10 haters and USC overlookers, I hope you watched CAL beat Va. Tech, who beat Miami earlier this year, last night without their top receiver.
I guess USC's loss in overtime to Cal isn't so bad after all. huh?

So much for this UM and OSU talk.
Michigan had given up only five TD passes during the season, and now gave up four to USC. They allowed only 15 sacks during the season, and now gave up 9 to USC. Great teams indeed.

First of all Cal is good, and second of all Va Tech does have issues, but I have to dispute the fact you say Cal is not good.

Cal is a Pac-10 team therefore they are no good. This is the logic that applies to most people who are in hte Big 10, ACC, SEC, Big 12 regions. Probably stems from the fact that Pac-10 games are played late PST time and nobody watches their games.

Sorry guys but the officials didn't cost KSU the game, they got dominated. Plain and simple. Fact of the matter is if Krenzel doesnt underthrow 2 balls its 35-7 at halftime, but again OSU gets no credit for anything they do. Also I'd like to congratulate UM for laying an egg against USC I was actually rooting for them
