Sortable Stats don't change view

Sortable stats in MLB stay on the default view when changed. Here is an example: You can see in the top right that this should show financials

Is this still a problem? I can't reproduce it.

I'm betting you copied in your v26 table folder to move your views into v27?
FWIW I did and that caused the "sortable team stats" view to stick the same as you are seeing. It does the same for coach views too.

Here is a quoted post where I was telling another user how to copy in the v26 views. Note in my quoted post the first step is to make sure you have created a BACKUP before making any changes. Here is a link to the thread in case you want to see everything in context. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...76#post5247376
The important update was added after I found out the team sortable stats and coach views were messed up by bringing in the v26 table folder. There is one additional step to fix the issue that I missed in the update. I'll put that step below the quote so it's easy to see and not missed.**

To confirm I went to every view I had and opened screens to confirm all worked as before. That's like 50 screens with 40+ columns per screen. Nothing looked out of place thought it's possible something new snuck in I didn't see. A quick look at filters too seemed to be exactly as they were in v26.

IMPORTANT UPDATE Following the steps above will break views for personnel/coaches and sortable team stats. To get these two working I had to remove some files from the v26 folder that I copied into v27. And then replace them with files from the v27 folder. You will still have the v27 folder if you renamed it as I suggested. The files are..
"all_coaches_filters"
"all_coaches_views"
Again remove from the files from v26 folder. Copy the files in from the v27 folder. As always make BACKUPS before proceeding.
Do the same for sortable team stats. The files to remove and replace aer
"all_teams_filters"
"all_teams_views"

After I did this both coaches and team sortable views seem to be working as they should.
** There is one other issue with the coach pages that persists after the above fix. Views will not save. The fix is to remove one other file from you table folder.
"all_coaches"
Once you remove it all should work. This got confusing as my v27 default backup folder did not have an "all_coaches" file in it, but my v27 in game folder did. IE I could remove the file from my In game tables folder but I didn't have one in my backup default v27 table folder to replace it. I took a chance that removing "all_coaches" would force OOTP to rebuild it after closing and opening OOTP 27. It did and my coach sortable page was back to full functionality.

I imagine you always do but here again is a reminder, always make BACKUPS before doing any of the steps I have in my post.

To be fair on the coaching views the development team did list this in the "things to consider when importing a v26 game" release note post.
Quote:
Coaching views and filters cannot be imported manually from previous versions. Significant changes have been made internally that views or filters from previous versions will not work.
What they failed to note was you can't manually import team sortable stats views or filters either. Maybe they were and still are unaware?

Hope this helps.

Thanks for that! When I first looked at your post I thought, "forget that!", but reading through it it doesn't sound that hard to do and it seems to make sense that it would work. Good job figuring it out too! I like your doggedness. I gave up as soon as I thought it screwed too much up.

Just to confirm, you've experienced no issues after you copied over 27's original coaches and teams files, correct?

In case you missed something in your look through, this was the summary of the different tables I found:

Quote:
I went over the screens as systematically as I could and the only other screens I could find, that didn't use the same ubiquitous views as the Lineups and Pitching screens have, were the Team Statistics screen I already mentioned, Schools (Game > World Home > Schools), Staff Search/Shortlist (Mgr Name > Staff Search & History), and Player Pitching/Batting Stats.
Are you able to confirm they all look and work right after what you did?

Taking these one by one...

Team Statistics screen : MLB>statistics>team statistics&info>sortable stats Views work for me. I can make/change a view and save it. I can make and save a filter.

Schools (Game > World Home > Schools) : Not working. I almost never look at this screen and only checked because of this post.

Staff Search/Shortlist (Mgr Name > Staff Search & History) : It was working, now it's not. Back to the drawing board.

Player Pitching/Batting Stats : The views and filters from my "lineups" and "pitching" team tabs seem to work on all pages displaying stats. ie
MLB>statistics>player statistics>sortable
These also work on the draft screen. I'm not sure where this user was looking to see they didn't work?

Long story short, I thought all was working. I'm seeing a couple of cracks in the wall after reviewing to reply to your question. I'll be gone most of the day so can't test until late afternoon or maybe evening.

First I'll make a backup.
What I'm thinking I'll do is remove files that may be causing the problems. IE for me coaches (5 files: 3 "all_x" and 2 "search_x) and school (3 files: "all_x"). I'm thinking/hoping if they are not there the game will build them. These aren't hard views or filters to make so going from scratch won't be a problem.

I do have a backup of the original "tables" file for v27. My second thought is to make a working copy of that and add or replace individual files with v26 files one category at a time and go from there.

Update: I took a few minuted before I have to leave to give a quick test. With the game closed, I removed all "coach" and "school" files from the tables folder, 8 in total. I put these files in a temporary folder in case something wen wrong. I then restarted the game and both schools and coaches work. Menus change the screen, can be edited and saved. The same for schools.
OOTP rebuilt the files it needed, but there are now 6 files instead of 8. I've only spent about 20 minutes total on this. I won't be playing again until at least tonight so I can't say it's a fool proof fix. More playing time will tell.
