Can't Open the Game Anymore

Last night I got a game crash, now the game won't even open anymore.

I get this Error, I hit OK, and then the loading screen for OOTP 27 comes up and the game immediately crashes. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling. I guess I have to delete all my settings, but I don't want to lose my 2 new saves. Is this a problem with only the standalone version, or does Steam also crash constantly??

I had next to 0 problems with OOTP 26.

I'm surprised that the reinstall didn't fix it. I don't know if it would help but for a true, full reinstall there are some additional files to clear - the configuration files.

The configuration files for Out of the Park Baseball (OOTP) on Steam are typically located in a hidden folder: C:\Users\[Your Username]\AppData\Roaming\Out of the Park Developments\[OOTP Version]\config. These files, such as app.cfg and engine.cfg, are used for settings like custom data locations.

Try deleting them and then reinstalling.

I’m having that same issue. No idea what’s causing it.

I had what sounds like a similar problem in testing. Reinstalling did help at first, but I seemed to keep having the problem with new builds. Then I changed the game's automatic update settings in steam to "wait until I launch the game", which seemed to help.
