Game causing computer to run extremely slow

When I play other games like Enlisted etc, or just browse the internet my computer runs fine with no slow down.

I start playing OOTP26 and within 5 minutes my entire pc is lagging. Lagging to the point it takes 10/20 seconds to select anything on the game, or on my pc. If I close OOTP26 it makes no difference, the computer still lags. I have to restart to get my computer back working normally.

I've turned off onedrive, verified game files on steam, run virus scans etc, all have made no difference.

I've gotten it too, so I'm glad to see it isn't my computer.

Also for me I don't have to completely restart my computer to fix it, just going in and out of sleep seems to solve it

Franchise Hockey Manager works fine, but OOTP does not at all. It's unplayable currently.

Does anyone have a fix for this? I just got a brand new gaming laptop, and I'm having the same problem on my new laptop. Game never did this on my old laptop. It sounds like it's a simple setting we might be missing. Sometimes 5 mins into playing OOTP every click has a 5 second delay. PC restart fixes it. Wonder if it's a NVIDIA setting

I just think folks don't know why. Broadly speaking speed is related to the number of games going on. So MLB only runs quick, MLB plus Minors is slower, adding world leagues atop that slower still. The amount of data retained (Game Settings, first tab) where you can keep all the replays, etc. on the top right hand size can impact speed. Microsoft always wants to backup entire C: drives to the OneDrive unless you proactively turn it off (or figure out how to exclude the OOTP folders) and with all the synching of stuff as a game runs can cause lag. Something like the OneDrive would be local so they could get your .dat files and have it run speedily in a test.

It sounds like you've tried a lot already, but there's more to try.

When you say your whole computer lags, however, it makes me think it's a file indexing issue. I know I have to exclude folders from being file indexed by my search program. uruguru points out that you should do the same for Windows. You said you "turned off onedrive". Well, Windows could still be file indexing for it.

Exclamation

It's not a sim runtime problem.

The whole PC gets extremely slow ramdomly while playing OOTP26. The 5 minutes marks is about the same for me.

This problem is getting really irritating! Im trying to find solution but there's seem to be none at this time. Glad to see im not the only one!

Nvidia issue seems a good search path. Index too, but could'nt find relevant solutions.

I really hope we can have help on this issue!
