I agree. It was "some issue" for me. It was "some issues" for Matt.

I know that we're just dorks sitting in front of screens all day but this isn't about me. I've said my part. Once this conversation is put to rest, I'll promise to abstain from commenting any further until there's something that needs to be said. And I'll be rooting for those who are shepherding Markus' baby in the hope that bigger and better things are still to come.

I'm also curious if the latest "patch" finally fixed what Matt refers to as some issues of AI teams releasing players immediately after signing. It definitely wasn't just "some issue" for me - it was a deal breaker. But that's just me. Curious to see what the future holds for Markus' creation.

If it had been, the team would've had a new thread announcing that. So far, there hasn't. I'd think they're still looking for honest feedback on the beta patch, and given the majority of this thread, there hasn't been too much discussion about the substance of the patch and whether or not it's for-sure fixing what it is intending to fix. They (and myself, honestly) would love to hear from people who've tried the patch and tried out the big things being addressed and see if it's to their liking.

So, what's the consensus now? Anyone started a new save? Are the player release issues fixed?

I started a new save. The sign and release bug seems to have been solved, which is great. The constant promotion and demotion of players continues, however. I am finding minor league teams have 5-8 players either sent up or down most days, which is really high.

thank you for testing and reporting back! It's good to raise issues, but its just as helpful to confirm whether patches have hit the mark!

The sign and release issue being dealt with sounds very good!

Hopefully some progress will be made in the future on the yo-yo promotion/demotion issue - but it's not a dealbreaker for me.

Just so you guys know - it isn't about the person who continually announces he's leaving unless changes are made!

As annoying as the sign/release thing was there are many bigger challenges with the game then that.

No it looks like this wasn't addressed. Right handed hitters still tend to disproportionately perform better than left handed hitters over time.

I think what’s needed is a reserve roster for minor league organizations, similar to the international complex. Right now, the AI treats the suggested roster size as a hard cap rather than a guideline. Ideally, it should recognize the space between the suggested roster size and the maximum roster size as a buffer, a place to temporarily stash players without having to immediately promote, demote, or release anyone. Because the AI doesn’t account for that flexibility, even a single injury or promotion can trigger a chain reaction throughout the organization. In previous versions, this usually resulted in sign-and-release moves, but now it manifests through a flurry of promotions and demotions instead.

Thanks for everyone checking in. We have a few other small adjustments that we need to get in the patch, I think we will update the public beta version tomorrow with them, and then release the patch officially early next week. We wanted to make sure everyone had enough time to update and report any feedback.

Just curious, and I don't know if anyone has ever addressed this, or if it's even an issue for anyone else, because it's largely cosmetic, but ... is there a reason every single version of OOTP26 that has been released neglects to list LH/RH splits for the 2024 season when you look at individual players' past stats?

Did this patch influence Owner behavior? I don't see it the patch notes, just want to confirm.

I haven't played in a couple weeks, and installed this update before playing tonight. In the first few weeks of simulating post-update, my owner signed two players to extensions. He does have the "interfering" personality type, but I've gone through a few years of this save without him forcing any signings on me (until now).

Obviously this could just be confirmation bias, but it seemed a little off and I figured I'd point it out.

As far as I can tell, FM 26 isn't a problem as a game...it's the UI that people are very upset with.

I have noticed that teams are keeping way better relievers in AAA over vets that don't belong on the team. For example the yankees have Fernando Cruz and Camilo Doval (50 overall) in AAA, but have multiple 40's rostered.

Could that be contract related?
