Expansion 5: Carolina Knights
*Sorry for the delay in posting more of these. I've been having some vision troubles. I'll get the rest out as quickly as possible.*
This is a pretty straightforward promotion of the Charlotte Knights to MLB. I renamed them the "Carolina" Knights to better represent the entire state of NC; if Raleigh isn't already on par with Charlotte as a metropolitan area, it's fast becoming it. Also, I didn't want to overwrite the MiLB files by using the same name for the expansion team. The set includes home pinstripes and road grays with teal and black alternate tops. Once again, Matthew Drake's expansion concept inspired the designs of the alternate uniforms. The city connects pay homage to the NBA's Charlotte Hornets (cf. the White Sox' homage to the Bulls) with teal and purple; the original Charlotte Hornets minor league club, whose logo is on the left sleeve; and Charlotte's Queen City moniker, represented by the crown logo on the cap (which I believe is stolen from the Netherlands' WBC uniform). Expansion 6: Orlando Dreamers
This one can either be an expansion team or a relocation of the Rays. There's apparently been a hard push for this team and name for a few decades, predating Tampa Bay's entry into MLB. Personally, I find their logo uninspired and dated, so once more I found inspiration in Matthew Drake's concept for this team, which integrates a more Floridian color palette.
The set includes home and road pinstripes with orange and indigo-purple tops. At a certain point, I figure the whole City Connect gimmick would die out eventually, so most of these from here on out won't include one. The primary logo uses a slightly recolored secondary logo from the Orange County Squeeze (designed by Barn Creative) with the "Orlando" and "Dreamers" script laid over top. I must have felt pretty clever when I merged the "Orlando" underline with the open loop at the of the "D" in "Dreamers." Caps and Logos: Last edited by ZigglarsTusk; 07-01-2025 at 01:59 PM. |

Concept 7: Oakland Oaks
A revival of the Pacific Coast Lague's Oakland Oaks, this set is based on MiLB's Hometown Collection. Included are home whites and road grays with blue and red alternate tops. The Giants would probably never let this happen given their territorial rights, but if the league does centralize teams' TV rights in 2028 this would be more palatable to other teams and a realistic possibility.
