America Premier League Baseball Project
Hello everyone, I keep coming back to this idea which was fully inspired by the amazing work of graphic designer Patrick Cummings. He created a universe where soccer took hold in America at the turn of the century and flourished into a promotion and relegation league much like the leagues in Europe.
I've always played with the idea of using the teams as models for a baseball league in the same vein as his original idea of a pro/reg league. Check out his work here https://pcgd.co/america-league-all Anyway, I'm tackling the team from DC and designing a 1930s flannel styled uniform. I would like to take a poll...out of the 4 screenshots, which one should be the jersey? (Team inspiration here: https://pcgd.co/the-district) |

I like #1 and #2. Based on the red striping in the inspiration set, I'd probably go with #1.
I like that these are inspired by the soccer unis without simply being "baseball versions" of them. Well done. |

I'm surprised how much I liked them, hence the survey. I like being challenged and reimagining soccer kits to baseball uniforms. |

Since it's a 1930s start.... that logo, as nice as it is, it doesn't quite match the era. Been playing with a US Seal bald eagle image I found and trying a few ideas. So far this is the "best" one I've come up with, but something seems lacking.

Charm City Crabs
The team from Baltimore
Playing around with the logo too. The "Crabs" logo is still in work. https://pcgd.co/charm-city |

I'm really liking the last two...but are the full Lord Baltimore patterned sleeves "historically accurate" for the 1930's? |

Great work Trek! From memory, I think it was (only) the Cubs in the early 1940's that first adopted sleeveless, vested jerseys or colored sleeves as you've chosen here. The Majors kept their styles pretty minimalistic until the 1970's. I think the minor league Oakland Oaks of the late 1930's had the colored sleeves like your style. You probably already know this. Otherwise, during the Depression of the 1930's, I think embellishments like your Crabs would be a pipe dream. Of course, none of these have to be restrictions on your imagination!

I do like to create lore-based teams and maybe just maybe this team was owned by an owner who also raised and raced thoroughbreds (Pimlico Race Course is in Baltimore and hosts the Preakness, second leg of the Triple Crown) and his best horse is called Lord Baltimore and the colors on the jockey silks are the Lord Baltimore flag..... Voila! his teams have flannel uniforms and his racing silks as sleeves. If only I could replicate the silk texture for the sleeves... then I would have truly "lored" the heck out of this team and uniforms! |

Providence Towne
Providence, near and dear to my heart.
https://pcgd.co/providence-towne A great little city. I took some liberties with this one. First, I changed the name to Anchors instead of Colonials, and second, I changed, or should I say added to the color scheme. Went full blown URI with the palette. The original logo was the light blue and white. I added the deep navy. Also played around with an alternate logo PT around the Anchor. |

Providence Towne Anchors
Home and Away
The two zip files were too big to load in their entirety, so I removed the textured jersey from each one. Just copy the two samples I provided and add them back in. |

Good stuff! For 20/20 vision, Reds for home, CC for away.
